Yeah, that's kind of the idea.
But the difficulty gap between hard and lunatic is insane. I love playing on hard classic. It's the perfect amount of challenge for me, and if you know how to exploit in-game mechanisms right, you can still grind on harder difficulties without grinding DLC.

Jumps back in after almost a month I GOT FIRE EMBLEM WARRIORS ITS SO GOOD WOOOO waits patiently for best boi and best girl aka Sumia and Lon’qu

@Becfromthedead group

I haven't played FE warriors yet… I watched my fiance play some, but that's it. I wasn't willing to pay $60 for a game I'd probably just play through once, but it looks really cool.

Oh yeah!! I'm super excited for Three Houses!!!! I feel like I've been waiting so long for a new Fire Emblem, because Echoes was a remake (a really good one, but still a remake), and honestly Fates was a disaster. Soooo I'm really pumped for these new characters and I'm trying to decide which house to join before the game comes out.

Haven’t played fates but I might get it. I was disappointed that best girl and best boi weren’t in Warriors…. but then again I’ve been playing a lot of Awakening so…

@Becfromthedead group

Hmmmm Fates was kind of a bad game imo. I won't stop you, obviously, but just a warning.
Awakening is really good though… I don't care how many memes came out of it. It's a good game. (Except for lunatic mode, which is just way too difficult and frustrating.)

@houdini

i've only played birthright, but i really enjoyed it. i'm looking to get another FE game, so do you have any recommendations?

@Becfromthedead group

Hmmmm idk. Depends what kind of difficulty you’re looking for, and what you think of the support system. If you liked the support system in birthright, the one in Awakening is similar. Awakening is also one of the easier games (but of course, you can adjust the difficulty).
Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is probably the best one that I’ve played. However, the support system is completely different, and the gameplay is harder. However, I think it’s better all-around as a game, as much as I love Awakening.
Or you could hold out for Three Houses, which comes out in July.

@houdini

i might wait for three houses then, since my birthday's in early july and it seems pretty interesting. thank you for the input!!!

Like you, becfromthedead, I have played FE games Awakening onward (Awakening, Fates (not Revelations, cause I hate DLC. Period), Echoes, Three Houses). I have a GBA, but all the older games are SO EXPENSIVE!!
I LOOVE AWAKENING SOOOO MUCH! It was my first FE, so it will always hold a very special place in my heart (and Conquest is such a great track…they even named a game after it, LOL).
Personally, I like pairing Olivia with Lon'qu, and in one of my runthroughs, I used SO MANY items on Olivia that she became super overpowered. And…I'm going to admit it, mostly I did pair Robin with Chrom. Honestly, in Fates, I felt like Felicia and Jakob's supports were like a bad version of Frederick's and Sumia's. The characters here are almost like anime characters, and they're just absolutely amazing.
And no offense, I have only played a bit of Warriors, but it's…not that good imo.
Three Houses is REALLY GOOD, has a nice re-play-ability (and SOOO MUCH CONTENT WITHOUT DLC <3). The characters are fun too…
Oh! Sorry! I just realised I am posting on a lot of threads that have not been talked on in like two years! Sorry for any inconvenience, but I'm new to Notebook…

@Becfromthedead group

I haven't actually played warriors, it's not really part of the series technically, so the game play and all that isn't anything like it.
Good for those who like it, just not my cup of tea.
Also a fan of Olivia and Lon'qu. They're very cute. And I love Awakening in general as well, especially because it was my first.

@Becfromthedead group

Oh yeah! I'm attempting to make an art series of fe3h tea time portraits, and I'm posting them on redbubble. So that's fun. I've only got one up right now- and one thing up on my shop period, but it's fine

Deleted user

Nice about your art series! Yeah, Warriors is like a hack-and-slash, not the classic FE tactical RPG. As I said, I've only played a bit and it's not my favourite, definitely. Gameplay is at least decent, but story is like a conglomeration of Awakening and Fates…TOTAL disaster IMO. The most fun I have with it is playing it with other people.

Deleted user

I share a similar opinion on Fates. And, of course, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, so if anyone likes Fates, go right ahead.
Yeah, gameplay and soundtrack were at least decent, but I found the level design somewhat lacking, but less so than the characters and story.
One of the biggest things that bugged me was probably how blank everyone was–especially Corrin.
Though I did like the Conquest siblings better than the Birthright ones (probably because Xander and Leo remind me of my brothers, LOL). Also, I think I liked Conquest better than Birthright as a whole. Also the thing where Corrin is actually like the Hoshidans' step sibling, but you only find that out if you achieve an S-rank with one of the Birthright sibs…just eeeewwww for me.
And IMO where they have characters who are literally just Severa, Owain, Cordelia, Tharja, and…oh, I forget who…just seemed sloppy to me.

@Becfromthedead group

Yeah, I agree on Conquest being better as far as characters and all that.
Although I will point out that Selena, Odin, and Laslow are actually really Severa, Owain, and Inigo. Wish they'd delved more into all that, but it was actually them. The others were sloppy- and also their names were anagrams of the other characters. Cordelia—>Caeldori, Tharja—>Rhajat, Gaius—>Asugi. Disappointing tbh.

So…just started playing the Binding Blade (released as simply Fire Emblem in the U.S.) last night on my GBA emulator…thoroughly enjoying it.

Deleted user

Oh. My apologies. I got the Blazing Blade and the Binding Blade mixed up! So…sorry about that. Still enjoying the Blazing Blade, though.
