I'm making a character with magical abilities, and wondering how the links work for giving magical abilities to my character.

Hi @MusicIStheMachine ! Welcome to Notebook. :) If you're talking about the "Magical Abilities" field under the Nature tab, unfortunately the only page type that can be linked there is a "Magics" page. The Magic template is a premium template, as non-premium users only have a couple of free templates available to them: Characters, Locations, Items and Documents.

However, the Character template is very customisable! You can add any category or field you wish. For example, you could add a field called "Magic" to the nature category on your Character template, which you'll then be able to type as much information in as you want.

In order to link magic you have to have premium where you can create magic for your world and connect it to your character. If you don't want to have to get a subscription, then you'll have to write it in your character's notes for what magic they have or elsewhere. Hope this helps!
