I am in desperate need of readers or fellow writers who will read my stories and offer their feedback, but I am constantly worried that people will steal my ideas, plots, and/or characters. This causes me a lot of trouble, because I'm not sure what I should do. I have only one writer friend that I know in person, and I am in need of others to offer their critiques, comments, and compliments. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can find trustworthy people who will read my stories and offer their feedback? Even if it's on a different site or something.
Thank you in advance for your help!

I understand how you feel, and I'm coming to the realization that people just aren't as interested in writing the stories in my head as I am. For instance, you're obviously a writer, and actively writing. What if I were to tell you my idea is about a changeling/shapeshifter, in a fantasy setting, that comes into her own powers. Does that strike you as something you'd want to write about? Probably not, because as a writer - one that INTENDS to write - you already have your own ideas to write about.

If you're like me, you've probably thought a great deal about the things you're going to write about… Things such as balancing the character's abilities/resources with their challenges. … Interesting plots AND how to solve them… Even if two writers set out on the same idea, they're 100% likely to have entirely different works.

My suggestion is, if you DO find a good forum to share in, take a chance and put your material out there. I'd be willing to bet that you'd probably come out ahead or even before you came out at a loss.

For me, if someone considered my ideas worthy enough to take as they're own, I'd probably be flattered more than anything. Further, if they could write it better than me, then I'd probably even be excited to read their take on it. (just me though)
