(I'm doing Raine a bit later in time than yours but just a little)
Raine groaned as a rush of light entered her eyes. She checked her phone and saw that she slept past 5:45 p.m. "What the hell. Why didn't my alarm work." She went to check on her phone and noticed that she didn't even put the alarm on the night before. "She ran into her parents room and saw them both deep asleep and exactly as they had been at 10 p.m." She didn't understand what was going on and then she noticed. She couldn't hear any cars or noise. At all. Usually her neighbors would be blasting Spanish music from their living room and the neighbors across would counter it with Gospel. She logged on to her laptop and went onto [Insert Social Media Platform Here] and put up a post to see if she was the only one.
Coco tapped her fingers on her desk as she waited for Twitter load and see if there were any new posts, all of them said 16 hours ago or more except for one which was only put up a few minutes ago. She clicked on it. The post read, "Anyone awake? Where I'm at is completely silent and no one is awake!" She clicked reply, her heart beating fast, "Hello, I'm awake. My family and neighbors are the exact same way…"
"You're not serious. I thought I was the only one." Raine messaged back as quickly as she received it. "Is it like complete silence?" She asked, ecstatic that she got a response.
"Yeah! I don't even hear the birds or anything." Coco replied her fingers flying across her keyboard.
Raine stuck her head out of the window for a second and realized that the stranger was right. "I didn't even notice that until now. "What do you think is happening?"
"I'm not sure…Anyway, I'm Coco. It's nice to meet you!"
"I'm Raine. Nice to meet you too." Raine responded, leaning back in her chair.
Hey? How many people are still awake? Are we the only ones?
Oh! Hello! I'm not too sure. But that's what it seems like. What's your name? Also, where do you guys live? It's obvious we need to meet and sort this thing out…
Alice had been quietly watching the chat (that sounds stalker-ish, but I stg she isn't a stalker), Hey... Don't you think we can just video-call each other instead?
Coco thought for a moment then typed quickly, Yeah that would work!
Okay then, is everyone okay with that?
I am.
Coco turned on her video camera and messed with her hair in the camera, waiting for the others to connect.
Alice also turned on her video camera, not sure what to do as she waited for everyone else to join.
I guess. I'm Steven.
Okay then, come on in.
He joined the chat. A young looking face came into view, with dark hair and eyes and a hint of a mustache.
Alice glanced at Steven when someone joined and smiled at him. "Hey."
He shifted. "T'sup." Inside he was shaking, but he kept up an unperturbed, almost cool expression.
Alice looked around nervously, her eyes looking more green than brown now. "So, everyone else in the world-as far as we know-is either dead or asleep, and we are the only people that are awake."
He shrugged. "Or they aren't on this chat or haven't seen it."
"Also that. Do you know why though?" She asked.
Coco sighed, “My family isn’t dead!” She pulled at her braid and her dark skin flushed, “they’re just asleep and we have to figure out why!”
"I think you're right." Steven said. He shuddered thinking about the first five minutes. "They're just… calmly sleeping I guess."
(What do you guys think of this idea, a random portal thing on the internet pops up and they’re all sucked inside where they all meet face to face and have to figure out how to escape. Escaping is the way to wake everyone up. Also the guy who trapped them on the internet and who put everyone asleep is hacker, both mind and internet. I will be controlling him.)
(That is so insane. What if it was something other than a human? What if they all live relatively close so they can drive there?)
(Okay….um I mean Coco and her fam live in Kentucky. Any ideas on what the bad guy can be?)
(East Oregon for my dude.)
