Harriet knocked on Zisel's door. "Do you require anything Mistress?" she asked.

Deleted user

"Yes, Mistress." Harriet walked off, and went to find Tasper.

(Okay, what will Harriet find when she sees Tasper?)

@WriteOutofTime

Tasper sat on a low branch of a tree, the shears he was meant to be using cast aside. He spotted Harriet coming out of the house and waved at her.

"Tasper! Hey!" she called out. "Are you alright?" she asked, suddenly looking worried as she raced over.

Ashlynn sighed. "Fine if you want to be like that then go ahead. But I've already made up my mind. I'm going." She rushed out in one breath.

"If anyone hears you… That is a dangerous thing to say!" Harriet whimpered.

Deleted user

"Don't waste life. Either way, we should get back to working."

@WriteOutofTime

"Alright, fine," he sighed, hefting the shears back into his arms. "What are you supposed to be doing? I've been told to shear the hedges and trees in the lawn."

"Attending to the young Mistress." she said in a mock posh voice, giggling a bit.

"Well, if I mess up one tiny detail, I'll be flogged bloody. Maybe you could be a "Maid" too?"

@WriteOutofTime

"The master won't even let me in the house unless to chastise me," Tasper said, rolling his eyes. "House work is off limits for me."

@Natasha

Riley walked by Tasper and Harriet silently. She figured she shouldn't interrupt them. She shifted the bag of rocks she was carrying. You make one mistake and you're stuck getting rid of all the rocks around the house. She thought to herself.

@WriteOutofTime

"Need some help?" Tasper offered, glancing over at the girl –Riley, wasn't it?– struggling with a bag of rocks. He probably wasn't much stronger than her, but together maybe it'd be easier.

@Natasha

"Yeah, I'm new. Not new to the system though." She said as some of the weight was eased off her. "You don't look too happy kid, today a bad day for you?" She asked.

@WriteOutofTime

Tasper smirked. "You could say that. Today's the anniversary of when the master flogged my father to death. And today he told me off for asking for time off. I guess I should be happy he didn't flog me," he said sarcastically.

@Natasha

Riley simply nodded, falling silent as the carried the bag of rocks to the road. Finally she spoke up. "For what it's worth, I know how hard it can be to lose your family. I'm sorry that you had to go through that."

@WriteOutofTime

"Yeah." Tasper rolled his eyes, trying to cover up his sadness with anger and indifference. He could still feel his throat tightening up, but he refused to cry in front of her. "It sucks." He nodded at the rocks in their hands. "Is this your usual job, or?"
