"Hey," she says, looking up slightly before realizing who said it, "Oh, Corban, hi."

"Yeah sure. I guess you could say that," Sofia agrees, shrugging slightly. She quickly shoved the picture that was on her lap back into her wallet.

Sofia shifts on the couch awkwardly. "So um…the um, weather?" she said jokingly, trying to break the awkward silence between the three of them. Well, at least she thought it was awkward.

Deleted user

"As always," Sofia said, smirking slightly. "You know. Now that I'm talking to people, this party isn't as crappy as I thought."

Deleted user

"Okay, grab me some while you're at it," Sofia said, suddenly she knew she wanted to stay.

Veronica leaned back on the couch and sighed. "So…Corban…" she said, not really knowing what she meant to ask.

Deleted user

"Ummm okay?" she muttered, sensing the awkwardness flood back into the situation.

"Sorry," Corban says genuinely, though there is laughter in his voice. "I like making people uncomfortable….." He chuckles. "And now that I say it out loud it sounds absolutely terrible."

Suddenly the lights went out. Things just stopped. There was no music…no lights. Nothing.

"What the hell…" Sofia muttered. She looked over at Corban. Maybe she was just imagining it…she was sick right? Hallucinating?

"I hate the dark…" she muttered. She pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them tightly. No one knew about what happened. But ever since it had she couldn't even sleep without a night light.

(Please tell me if I go against details of the Wave.)

Not a huge fan of the dark either, Corban reaches out and puts his hand on what he hopes is Sofia's shoulder…er, maybe it's her knee. "I'm gonna' see if it's the whole street." Corban works his way through the murmuring crowd. No one has pulled their phones out, oddly enough. As Corban reaches the front door he pulls his phone out of his pocket; it doesn't turn on.
Corban steps out of the front door….it looks like at least the whole street is out…..he can't see any man-made lights at all.

She raises her eyebrow as he pats her neck but shrugs. Not wanting to be alone she follows him outside. "What do you think happened?" she asked, her voice shaking.

In the light of the evening(?) Corban shugs, sure she can see him now. "I don't see any storm." He looks down the street from where they are. "Whatever it was….it it….well, everything that I can see. Does your phone work?" He asks the question, hoping his guess is wrong.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

(Is it an EMP?)

Victoria froze, her hand in the chip bowl. There was nothing. Just blackness. She could still feel the chips beneath her fingers, but she couldn’t see them at all.

She quickly pulled out her phone, but the screen had only static. "No…" she said, looking at him with eyes full of fear.
