"Yeah, actually I work here… I sing for the customers and I get free Italian food. We should keep that between us though."

"That's awesome," Lillian smiled at him, "I mean what?"

Darren laughed. The waitress asked what they would like, Darren ordered eggplant parmesan.

Lillian ordered spaghetti. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the classics.

The waitress nodded and smiled at Darren. She patted his back as she walked away.

Lillian smiled at Darren. She knew the day would end soon, and that was causing her to have mild anxiety. The end of the day meant her mother, and her father, and……… No, you're having fun. You're with Darren. Everything's all right.

Their food arrived and the couple ate. Darren inhaling his food, as usual, it was gone within in 3 minutes of it hitting the table. Music played in the background.

Lillian took a few bites. She started playing with her food. Her anxiety, that she had just recently discovered, was building up and made her feel sick to her stomach.

Darren stood up, "I'll be right back." He walked over to a man behind a counter looking at a computer and said something to him before returning to the table.

Lillian looked at him quizzically. She didn't say anything.

Suddenly a song started playing louder than the ones previously. Next to me… Imagine Dragons
Darren walked over to Lillian and offered a hand to her, "Excuse me, May I have this dance?"

Lillian stared at him slightly opened mouth. She nodded and took his hand standing up, "Of course kind sir."

Darren smiled and pulled Lillian onto the floor joining a few other dancing couples. Darren slid a hand around her waist and left the other holding Lillian's hand pulling her in closer.

Lillian felt her body heat up as she was pulled closer to Darren. She put her hand on his shoulder and allowed Darren to lead.

The song played on and the couple only drew closer together. Even when it ended Darren still felt like he was spinning although neither of them were moving anymore.

When the song ended, Lillian cupped Darren's face and pulled him into a kiss.

Darren kissed Lillian back only making his head spin more.

"Did you have a good day?" Darren whispered

Lillian whispered with a soft smile on her face, "It was perfect."

"Today is the day we got away and yes it was perfect." Darren glanced at his watch. "Unfortunately I think we have to go back soon." Darren frowned.

Lillian sighed. Tears began to form in her eyes, she held Darren close, "I never want this to end."

"It never has to. Every time something happens at home remember today, you can get away whenever you want. I'd do this every day as long as it meant I could see you as happy as you were."

Lillian looked Darren in the eyes, "Thank you. For everything."

"Thank you for accompanying me," Darren replied. "I'll drive you home, and you have my phone number if you need me."

Lillian nodded. She didn't want to touch her phone, she assumed a third message had been sent, "It was my pleasure."

Darren pulled up to Lillian's house and helped her out of the car. He then walked her up to her porch wishing they would have never gotten out of the car so they could drive away from all of this. Someday he assured himself.

Lillian stood outside the porch, she looked at Darren, "B-bye… I-I'll see y-you Monday."

She took a shaky breath as she entered the dark house. Lilian tried to sneak back into her room with out being noticed, but of course her mother was waiting, "And where the hell have you been you slutty bitch?!"

Darren walked to his car when he heard her mother yelling, he stopped and winced. Stay out of it.
