“Why are you doing that?” She asked.
“Why are you doing that?” She asked.
"Mr Inray, you dolt!"
"Sorry didn't see him." She covered up her hologram and continued on her homework.
Lintar risked a glance at the bald man and went back to work
"I don't think he likes us." She whispered,
"Can't wait to report us." they flicked a page in their textbook, "the government, I meant, not the principal."
""I wish I could leave." She muttered.
"Me too."
"They would notice though, if we tried. We're watched every second of the day."
"Unless…Never mind." Lintar put away their things, "I'm getting food. You coming?"
"Unless what?" She asked, standing up as well.
They shook their head, "Nothing."
"Okay, yeah let's get food."
Lintar joined the line of students in the canteen, ignoring the whispers
Ash stood behind them, glaring at anyone who whispered.
Lintar just grabbed a random tray and left
Ash grabbed something and pushed past the crowd.
Lintar sat back down, "That, is why people are stupid."
"Honestly it's like we're a disease." She grumbled.
"Well then tell them to get a fricking vaccine!"
Ash chuckled and glanced up as a small boy approached their table. "What?" Ash asked tiredly. "A-ah uhm.." He ran away quickly.
"And here was one unvaccinated small child. RIP small child."
Ash laughed harder, tracking the boy with her eyes. He ran back to his friends, his face red.
Lintar smiled
"I think he's scared of us."
"Yes, because we're from where the evil rebels are from."
"The people actually fighting for a good cause." She muttered.
"Try telling them that."
Ash sighed and rolled her eyes. "I can't believe they sent us here."
"Maybe because it's not safe on Calmani anymore? I heard it erupted to a full-scale war last year."
