''Oh, my I'm so sorry…" Kaitlin said quickly, taking a couple steps back instinctively.
''Oh, my I'm so sorry…" Kaitlin said quickly, taking a couple steps back instinctively.
Ava was about to snap at the girl and tell her off but then she heard her anxious apology. "It's ok it was mainly my fault," she said.
"I-I should have seen you coming, sorry." Kaitlin said again, taking another careful step back.
"it's really okay," she reassured. she quickly looked the girl up and down and saw the books in her hands. "so what books did you pick up?"
"Hm? Oh.. um.." Kaitlin looked down at the books in her hands, "Th-Throne of Glass, one, two and three…" She said.
"hmm sounds interesting. I picked up…" she looked down at the random book. "The first Divergent book. which I read 3 years ago but oh well."
Kaitlin smiled a little, "I've already read Throne of Glass, too. But it's just a good series so I have to read it again.
“I don’t think I’ve ever read that series. What’s it about?” Ava questioned a little intrigued. It’s usually hard for her to find a book in a library that she’s never read.
"Well, an assassin, Caleana Sardothien is recruited by the Prince of Adarlan, Dorian Harvillard to fight in a competition to become the kings champion. But things go wrong along the way and there's magic and stuff…" Kaitlin explained as best she could.
Ladon did a bit of browsing on the computer. He looked around to find nothing of interest going on around him, and he turned his computer off, to go browse books.

"that sounds nice, ill have to make sure to read it one day," Ava said. "I better leave you to read, but it was nice meeting you. oh and I almost forgot I'm Ava."
"I'm Kaitlin… it was nice meeting you, too." Kaitlin replied, smiling shyly.
(I ship it! And just heads up guys, I might not be on much because on top of my fever my cousin is pregnant?? And I'm hyped for her because we're pretty close, but she announced by Facebook, so my dad and our uncle are literally just finding out about this (and she's due in December or something) and everyone in the family is low-key waiting for the shit to hit the fan when my grandma finds out about this. It's not really a secret that she doesn't like my cousin all that much and my cousin is also only 20, so honestly we're all thanking the lords that my grandmother doesn't have Facebook)
(Whatever you need to do, we're cool with it !)
(Yup!)
Leon had been sitting on top of one of the tables in the middle of the library, reading The Iliad. He had his feet resting on a chair in front of him. In one hand, he held the book. In the other, he had an apple. And to top it off, taped on the table next to where he sat was a sign that read no food or drink in the library.
"I'm Kaitlin… it was nice meeting you, too." Kaitlin replied, smiling shyly.
"well, Kaitlin I'm going to go sit near the windows and read. You can join me if you would like," Ava said her once small smile growing slightly. she motioned to the cushioned seats near the large windowed area.
Kaitlin looked from Ava to the seats then back to Ava, "S-Sure. I'd love too." She said, her smile growing a fraction.
“Great!” Ava said before walking over to the chairs. She sat down on one and hoped Kaitlin would follow.
Kaitlin bit her lip and didn't follow at first but soon moved one foot in front of the other and sat down across from Ava, placing her books on the table.
(I’m going to go for the night)
Ava saw Kaitlin hesitated and thought she seemed really scared. “Are you okay?” She asked after Kaitlin sat down.
(Alright, seeya)
Kaitlin nodded slowly, “Yeah, I guess I’m not used to… meeting people who don’t.. shout at me. Socialisation isn’t my strong point…” She said quietly.
“It’s ok but you don’t have to worry. I only ever yell at people that deserve it,” Ana said smiling at her. She seemed nice she hoped that nothing she may say will scare her away. It’s always nice to at least make friends with one person in a new school.
Jamie's eyes finally shut. He leaned against his hand, his head falling down onto the table as he started to slip further into sleep's hold. He jerked up when he heard someone in the hallway scream. He looked at the open library doors blearily, wondering if he had just imagined it.
"What the h-" he was cut off by another scream. A student he didn't recognize ran through the doors, and slammed them behind her. There were more and more screams coming from the halls, and Jamie was fairly sure that there was blood on the student's arm. She leaned heavily against the doors. There were tears on her face.
"We need to block the entrances!" She called out, "there- there's something in the school. It- It killed-" she fell to her knees, sobbing and muttering incoherent things.
Immediately, Ladon wrapped his arms around one of the couches in the library, lifting it with a grunt, and taking it to the door. He had no time for emotions or anything else, except saving lives.
Leon jumped up from the table, throwing his book and apple down.
“What the hell’s going on?”
His heart was suddenly racing. “Is someone… have they opened fire? I didn’t hear gunshots.”
The girl shook her head, moving out of the way so the couch could be put down. "I- I don't know, I don't know but it's kil-" Something thumped against the door, interrupting her. She screamed, walking backwards, terrified. It sounded like the thing was throwing itself at the door.
Jamie took in a shuddering breath. They were all going to die, weren't they? "What's out there?" He asked the girl quietly. She turned to look at him.
"Monsters."
“Hey! Kid! Help me push this bookshelf over. We can slide it in front of the door!” Leon shouted, picking a tall shelf that was too heavy for him to take alone.
Jamie had mixed feelings on being called "kid", but he pushed those down. The feelings that remained, of course, were the ones of overwhelming panic. What does she mean by monsters? he asked himself as he moved forward to help. He knew his expression must have betrayed his thoughts, but he hoped the other boy- Leon, if he remembered correctly- wouldn't say anything about how he looked like he was about to break down.
As the bookshelf came down, Leon stood back a little and went back to thinking.
"Thanks," he told Jamie. He looked over. "Wait… you good? Let's… let's just hide or something as secondary protection."
