He tossed it aside with the flick of his wrist, then picked up and opened another, all without touching it. "Ugh," he scoffed. "Human literature is so trivial."

Something fell behind Whitehot, and she turned around to see Loki fling another book to the ground. She rolled her eyes, there were so many random heroes and villains in public places today, it was starting to get annoying.

"Shakespeare not interesting you enough, Loki?" she questioned, glaring at the trickster god.

@kawaiisenpai

"Whitehot." Loki greeted her with a crooked smile. "Yes, admittedly, humans aren't nearly as virtuous as my brother perceives them to be."

@kawaiisenpai

Loki gritted his teeth under a smile. "Of course not Whitehot. You know me." He smiled slyly. "Just some, eh…light reading."

Kylie narrowed her eyes at the girl in front of her. There was no way she wanted to call her friend, not when she seemed to act so suspicious before. But Kylie didn't want to put herself in the spotlight, however before she could utter another word, a very familiar god made himself known.
Loki and Kylie exchanged glances, the trickster giving her a sly smile, while Kylie maintained her blank expression. All the times they both met, Loki was never easy. He tried his hardest to make her mission impossible (no pun intended). Whilst Kylie had never failed a mission, whenever she crossed paths with Loki, things never seemed to be easy. Before Loki could open his mouth to address her, Kylie locked eyes with 'Whitehot' again.
"Your friend, you said?" she murmured, reaching down to get her bag. She pretended to search for her phone inside of her bag all the while conjuring an exact replica of her device. She pretended to find it and took it out casually. That was one of the things she loved about her ability. She could conjure anything, anywhere without giving any sort of indication. All she had to do was think about it and it was there. "Here you go." Kylie handed her phone to the girl, her face blank, void of any emotion. The phone she conjured was rigged, or it wasn't destructive. It contained everything her original did except all the classified information was no longer in it. It came in handy when Kylie needed to push people out of her way.

The girl reached into her bag and pulled out a phone. "Here you go," she said, handing it to Whitehot, who took it.

"Thanks. I'll just be right back," Whitehot said, walking around the corner.

When she rounded the corner, she turned herself invisible, bending the light around herself. She made the phone invisible, too, and turned the camera on. When she finished, Whitehot turned the corner again, still invisible, and recorded what the girl was doing. She was suspicious of whatever the girl was doing, especially after she had been watching her talk with Element earlier.

With that done, Kylie resumed reading the book. She flipped pages after pages, getting exasperated when she couldn't find anything related to what she was doing. Shutting it quietly, Kylie stood up and grabbed all the books she got from the shelves, the ones she had finished reading. She began to put them on their shelf quietly when a book caught her eye. Curiously, she took it out to read the title.
"Whatchu lookin' at?" startled, Kylie dropped the book. The voice was familiar, and Kylie recognized it as Loki's. He began to laugh, clutching his stomach.
"You should've seen your face!" he chuckled, his laughter increasing when she glared at him.
"Loki," she addressed him. "Is there something I can help you with?"
Loki grinned and shook his head.
"I'm bored, so I decided to tail ya," he replied, the mischevious look in his eyes growing and increasing the dread inside Kylie. "Whatcha lookin' at?"
Kylie sighed.
"A book," she simply replied. "If you wish to waste my time, Loki, then leave."
"You don't want my company?" Loki put his hand over his heart, looking hurt. "What if I said I could help?"
"You've only ever tried making situations worse for me, trickster," Kylie sighed, locking eyes with the god. "What makes you think I will accept your help?"
"Aw, don't be like that," he grinned, then dropped to a light whisper. "You do know that Whitehot's watching you, right?"
Kylie's eyes widened, but she made no sudden movements.
"Well, have fun reading!"

Whitehot watched Loki sneak up behind the girl and startle her, and she tried to hold back her laughter when the girl jumped at the sound of Loki's voice. Nothing else interesting happened, so she decided to stop trying to figure out what the girl was doing and unbent the light around herself, becoming visible again. Doing the same with the phone, she looked at the video she had taken but saw nothing.

Fine. I'll just delete it, she thought, tapping the button to do so. Then she opened the trash and deleted it from there, too. No need for her to think I'm a stalker. That's wouldn't go over well.

Kylie glared at Loki as he walked away, muttering curses under her breath. Oh, how annoying he was!
Sighing, she turned back to the book she got and finally read the title.
The Codex of Eden
This was it. This book might contain some answers, but when she opened it, she was welcomed with words she could not decipher. Kylie sighed. She should've known it wasn't going to be easy.
Just then, she felt a tap on her shoulder and Whitehot came into her vision.

Kylie simply nodded, taking back the phone and slipping it into her bag. She closed her bag and willing the fake phone to disappear. Kylie bit her lips. She wasn't good at deciphering words written in codes. She couldn't ask anyone else back at the guild. It was annoying since everyone was competitive and they wouldn't do favors without anything in return. She didn't know anyone who could help her.
I really shouldn't have taken this mission… she thought to herself, sighing. But she had accepted it, and now she had to complete it. Abandoning it would leave a dent in her guild profile.

Whitehot turned around to join Element again, but she had disappeared. Crap. I should've known, she thought. Ah, well. I won't be catching up to her anytime soon.

Facing the other girl again, Whitehot sat down in the chair across from her. The girl didn't so much as look up at her. Whitehot leaned back into the chair, crossing her arms and legs and looking intimidatingly calm.

Kylie felt Whitehot's eyes on her, but she tried not to notice. Kylie figured Whitehot might leave her alone if she ignored her, but it didn't go exactly as Kylie wanted it to. Whitehot remained seated, looking calm. Before Kylie could open her mouth and question the girl, her phone rang.
"Mark," she muttered when she answered the phone. "I'm busy."
"Sorry, Ky, but the master sort of wants to see you," he replied, sounding a little breathless.
Kylie raised her eyebrows.
"Everything good?" she asked quietly, knowing the master wouldn't be calling her if it was.
"I don't know; he wouldn't tell me. Said it was to be heard by you and you alone," he released a large breath. "Look, I gotta go, but get here as fast as you can."
Sighing, Kylie took the phone away from her ear. Seems like she would have to check the book out.

"Your boyfriend okay?" Kylie's head snapped up. She looked wide-eyed at Whitehot, who had an eyebrow raised and a smirk dancing across her lips. "He sounded worried."
Kylie forced herself to remain calm.
"He is not my boyfriend," she kept her voice leveled. Or at least, tried her hardest to do so. "He is… a coworker. A friend."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Whitehot held back a chuckle. It sounded like she'd hit a nerve in mentioning a boyfriend, which could help her get some information out of this girl.

Leaning further back into her chair, Whitehot drawled, "Uh-huh. If you say so, sweetheart."
