"I-I don't think they know yet." Dove stroked Oliver's hair, "They're pretty busy too."
Oliver shut his eyes, leaning calmly into Dove’s comforting touch. “I hope you’re right.” He murmured quietly.
"I always am." she smiled.
“That doesn’t surprise me at all.” Oliver cracked open his green eyes to get a better look at the girl in front of him, his cheeks turning a rosey pink.
Dove imagined that if she had a heart rate monitor, it would be broken by now.
“Tell me about yourself. I’m gonna be stuck here for awhile anyways.” Oliver grinned weakly.
She was taken aback, "What do I tell you?"
“Anything you want.” Oliver closed his eyes again, but held Dove’s hand still, rubbing circles on her palm with his thumb.
"I like chocolate. A lot. It reminds me of Remus Lupin and how he used chocolate as a comfort for dementors. I always kind of felt like my depression was a dementor." she blew her hair away from her face, "I didn't even eat chocolate until last year because I wouldn't let myself eat anything. I forgot what bread even tastes like."
“All the more reason to take you out to dinner then.” Oliver frowned a bit. “I’m sorry you’re going through that. If I can do anything, let me know, okay?”
"I'm working through it myself. And my dads are helping me." she smiled, "Maybe you can take out to a cake and chocolate buffet one day."
“Pie is better.” Oliver playfully stuck out his tongue at Dove. “Blueberry pie is the best.”
"Chocolate pie is the best." she laughed and clicked the clicker. "Fight me."
“You’d beat me up.” Oliver fake pouted, holding back a smile. “What else do you like?”
"I like myself. My psychology teachers have taught me that the number one thing you should like is yourself." Dove smiled, "One of them said that I should like myself better than I like chocolate. It wasn't working for me. I still like chocolate better."
“Why? You’re so much sweeter than chocolate. I sure like you better than chocolate.” Oliver commented, smirking a little.
Dove blushed and looked down at the floor, "You've tasted me? That's weird." she wrinkled her nose and her blue eyes brightened when she looked at Oliver.
“I’m actually a vampire!” He announced dramatically, barring his teeth.
"Oh no!" Dove gasped dramatically, "I'm going to die!"
Oliver leaned back, his dramatics quickly wearing himself out. “That’s right. I’m very scary. Just might have to attack you later though.” He held onto his side where most of the pain was.
"You should get some rest. You need it." Dove stood up and sat on the chair, "Want me to call your parents?
“No it’s fine. Stay with me a little longer?” Oliver begged, unwilling to be left alone in the hospital room.
Dove pushed some hair out of her eyes, "I'd stay all night if you asked."
“I-I don’t want you to be uncomfortable or anything… I know you have patients too… I-I’m being selfish. But can I keep you to myself just a little longer?”
"Yeah. Speaking of me, what about you? Tell me about yourself?"
“Me? There’s not much interesting about me.” Oliver shrugged.
"Well me neither, but I still talked. Tell me about your anemia?"
“I inherited it from my mom. It’s iron deficiency anemia. I take a supplement every morning.” Oliver explained. “When I don’t take it I get tired, dizzy, and nauseous.”
"It gets easier?" Dove asked.
