Paragon smiles gently, and recites a passage from the long forgotten Book of Night. "'And so, when the last light fades, the last of the last shall leave, and the first of the first shall come.' It was foretold when I was made, Asra Snow. And in my time, such prophecies would, will, come true. And my time has come again. We leave immediately. We summon the Council."

She strides away, drawing attention from the surrounding humans, as she was clothed in a simple black peplos, trimmed with red, with black leather sandals on her feet.

asra was confused and sobbing. he shakily typed out the message and followed her

Reaching the Council chamber, she remains standing while everyone else mumurs and takes their places.

"Welcome one, welcome all. I, Alix Paragon, am back, as the Book of Night foretold. Our time is coming to an end, people. We've known this for a long time. But we've chosen to remain complacent and bitter."

"Too proud to set aside petty clan rivalries." she says, directing this to an old, white haired vampire.

"Too scared to stand up for yoursself." she says, to a younger looking vampire near the and of the table.

"And most of all, too powerful to let anyone else lead." she says, directing this to those who were in Kuranparagon.

"That ends. We stand together, or die apart. There is no other ending for us." she murmurs.

Each of the vampires she'd addressed looked shaken. One stands up, the one who'd challenged Asra before. "And how do we know you are who you say you are, Paragon?"

She gives the man a cold smile. "You know in your heart of hearts, Mr. Christain Hansett."

The man, Christain, looks pale, and sits down hard.

asra hid his face in his arms, too upset to even register what was happening. hed lost his mate. hed lost Alex. asra didn't care anymore if the clans left him behind or gave enough to carry him. he just wanted to be left alone.

Alix then turns to Asra. "I know how you feel, Asra. Truly, I do. But do not give up. Do not let yourself waste away. Alex would not have wanted that."

Deleted user

"Alex isn't here anymore. don't tell me how he's supposed to feel!"

Deleted user

Alix stands, raising herself to her full 6'7" of height. "You know how he would feel, though. You were the only person he's loved. And I know the same thing goes for you, Asra Snow."

Deleted user

asra turned his head, not daring to look at her " your only saying that because you took him away from me.."

Deleted user

Alix looks a little annoyed. "Stop acting like a child. Fight for your life in the name of those you love and have lost. Do you think Alex would be sitting around, moping? No, he wouldn't. So emulate him. Cherish the time you had with him. Keep his memory with you to warm you when the world feels cold. Honor his memory."

asra stormed outside, forcing himself not to cry " just take to me! " he yelled at the sky

Deleted user

Alex stubbornly refuses. He'll have to just live with it.

But it still hurts.

Alix, meanwhile, storms out to Asra. "He won't talk to you. Not before it's your time, at least."

Deleted user

" then when is my time?" he asked. he hadn't meant for it to be so cold but that's how it was. and deep down he knew it would hurt Alex, but if he could have just held out long enough…

asra turned away, " my mate was my everything. I literally have nothing without him. I failed as an omega and a mate. couldn't even bare an heir "

Deleted user

Alix shrugs. "Adopt. Find someone else. Just make sure you do something, besides sit around waiting for Death to clame you."

She strides close to Asra. "And if need be, take me. We are, after all, Paragon."

Deleted user

Alix grins. "Yes, we. I am Alix Paragon. I thought I said that, but I suppose not."

Deleted user

asra sighed, scootching so she could sit " you have my mates body. so it is hard not to look at you any differently "

Deleted user

Alix shrugs and sits. "Yes, well, not much I can do about that, I'm afraid."

Deleted user

Alix shivers, and grins. "Trust me, I won't."

She stays silent for a bit, then speaks up. "So what next, Asra?"

Deleted user

Alix nods. "That's fair. We do still need to talk to the clans properly. I'll leave that to you. I've said enough."
