"I…its…what?" He asked, stammering. "No it…I…"

Astra laughed at his inability to talk. This is great. I should do this more often! She pulled out the crumpled note in her pocket and looked at it. "Yep. Your birthday is tomorrow."

He raised an eyebrow. "No it isn't!" He insisted.

She showed him the note which said:

Winter's Birthday: -insert date of the next day- i guess?

"See? It is tomorrow!" She smiled and crumpled it back into her pocket. "So, yeah. I'll be throwing you a party."

Winter blinked. "But I…er… that's not…" He stammered. "I'm not…I don't need a party…I…"

Astra giggled. I like him like this! She placed a finger over his mouth to silence him. "You can't change my mind. Is there anyone you wanted me to invite?"

Winter sighed. "No." He replied, looking down at her. A birthday party?? Why?

"Great! Did you want it to be at a certain place, or…?" She trailed off, open for suggestions. It'd be weird to do it at my house. Maybe his? Hm…

Winter shrugged. "I don't care." He replied slowly. Why? Why a birthday party? How old does she think i am?

Astra smiled. "I'll just make it surprise, then." She started to walk off, but she quickly turned back aroud. "How old are you turning?"

He frowned slightly. "I… don't know." And that was true. He had stopped counting, after a while.

"We'll just say 26, then…" She pulled out a pen from her pocket and wrote it on her hand.

He nodded. "Okay…"

"Alright." She looked around their surroundings like she was looking for something. "Um… do you have a phone?"

He hesitated, then pulled his out. "Yeah."

Astra smiled and handed him the pen, and shoved her arm out. "Write out your number, then."

He raised an eyebrow, but wrote his number. "There."

She looked at it, a mischievous grin plastered on her face. "Good. I'll text you about the details, then." She turned, not bothering to take the pen back from him. "In the meantime, I gotta prepare."

Winter sighed. "Fine." He sat down on the bench again.

Yet another time skip

Astra had texted Winter. The text read:
"Hey, this is Winter, right?"

"yes. This had better be Astra" Winter replied after a few minutes.

Astra rolled her eyes and replied almost immediately, "No, it's Ash. I've grown human thumbs and I'm texting you. I demand more food. And I want to see the lovely girl named Astra."

Winter looked down at Ash, who was busily licking himself. "Hm. Hello, Astra" he replied.

"Heh, hi Winter. So, I have a suggestion for you. Would you like your party to be at that lovely restaurant? Or at your house?" She replied after a while.

Winter sighed. "I have no preference." He replied.

"Well, if that's the case, leave your door unlocked tonight." She texted back, slightly grinning

"excuse me?" He raised an eyebrow as he texted back.

She chuckled softly at his response. "Chill. It's so I can come in and decorate while you're asleep :D"
