A is a voice-activated device (think Alexa or Siri). NIX model 3065B. B is very busy, and A was wired through their house. When A broke, B sold A's chip to a black-market doctor. The doctor put A's chip into a human-android body, and now A's back. B takes him in, (for reasons I'll leave up to you) And A loves it. A is good for a while but is still trying to figure out this whole "human" thing. B, as I said, is incredibly busy, so A is left to their own devices. B starts to notice something is up. A doesn't look right. They've been using and abusing their body, and trying to figure out why.
