Astra's entire face lit up when she saw him. He looks cute like that. She waved back at him and did a little run to catch up to him. "Hi Alex!" She giggled, quite happy to see him.
Astra's entire face lit up when she saw him. He looks cute like that. She waved back at him and did a little run to catch up to him. "Hi Alex!" She giggled, quite happy to see him.
“Hey Astra!” He stopped and smiled, hands fidgeting with the corner of his shirt, “Hows life going?” Already there were too many cars out for his liking, but he didn’t say anything to ruin spending time with only person he knew in this city.
She shrugged. "It's awfully boring, not gonna lie." She gently nudged him with her elbow. "How's life in the big city for you?"
Sam shrugged as well, “Loud, terrifying, but mostly uneventful.” He smiled slightly and looked around, “So, where should we go first? I don’t know any cool places to visit.”
"We could go to Central Park or see the statue of liberty," She looked up as though someone was holding up a list of things to do for her. "Or we could go to Times Square. Or go to an art museum." She sounded like a machine when she listed off the things they could do.
“Maybe Central Park?” He suggested, glancing at her, “I’ve been to everything else, and maybe we could go to somewhere good to eat after that?”
She nodded and linked her arm through his. "Of course! You'll love it there!" She smiled and started walking to their destination.
His face flushed and he tried to say something, eventually just nodding so he didn’t make a fool of himself. A small goofy smile settled onto his face though and he went along willingly and without removing his arm.
"So, do you have a job or anything?" She asked, trying to make conversation. They were close by to the park, but it was awkward for her to not say anything.
“Yeah, I work with computers, that’s one of the reasons I’m here right now,” He replied, the small smile still visible on his face, “What about you? You have a job?”
"Yeah, I'm an animator." She frowned slightly when she said it. "It's nice, but it's tiring."
He glanced over at her with an interested look, “What do you animate?” It sounded like a fun job, more fun that working with computers all day, even if he loved working with computers.
"Usually just Japanese cartoons," she shrugged, seemingly bored by the subject. "Though I don't come up with the plot."
“I don’t think I’ve ever watched or read Japanese cartoons,” He said, mostly to himself as they reached the park. His eyes widened and he smiled, the sight reminding him of what his hometown was like.
Astra grinned at his reaction to the park. "You like it, huh?" She internally sighed with relief. It was hard not to like this place, but you never knew. It would be awkward if he didn't like it.
Sam nodded, his smile growing, “It almost reminds me of what my home looks like.” He slowly took a step forward and whispered, “Wow…” already ready to wander through the park and get as lost as he could.
"Lead the way, then." She said, still grinning. "I'll follow you wherever you go."
He glanced at her and his smile grew before he slowly started into Central Park. His eyes flicked around from thing to thing and he smiled, deciding this was his new favorite place in the city. It was so colorful and beautiful.
