Eve didn't hear Kia's footsteps leave and she almost opened the door, wanting desperately to talk to him.

Kai put his hand down and took a step back from the door.

Eve turned away from the door and took a couple steps towards her bed.

Kai ran a hand through his hair and checked the time. It was getting late, he can't stand here all night.

Eve changed her mind and quickly opened the door. "Kai, wait. Do you love Cara?" She asked, referring back to when he'd told her it felt like he and Cara weren't even dating anymore.

Kai stared at her when she opened the door. "Do I? No. I don't. I thought we could've been friends though."

"If you don't love her, why did you stay together for so long?" Eve asked, growing more and more curious about their relationship.

"I-I don't know."

"Then what would be so bad if something were happening between us now that you're not together anymore?" Eve asked, starting to get sad again.

"I-I guess..it wouldn't be that..bad.." He said quietly.

Eve sighed again and turned away from him, about to close her door.

"Wait no that's not what I meant." He said grabbing her arm and facing her towards him. "I meant maybe I could explore these feelings I have for you, if you want."

"I don't want to make you do anything you're not ready for. If you need more time, then take it. Break ups are hard. I'll be okay." She assured him, not wanting to force him into anything.

"Oh. Um. Okay." He let go of her arm and started walking away. "See you, I guess."
WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!! He screamed to himself as he walked away.

"Okay, I'll see you later I guess." Eve turned around again to go back inside. What are you doing?! This isn't what you wanted! Go to him! She thought, almost turning around once again to stop Kai from leaving, but she didn't as she understood that he needed time to get over Cara.

Kai stopped walking and turned around to face Eve. "Hey, how would you like to go to dinner tomorrow?"

Eve stopped in her tracks. "What?" She asked, turning around to face him. She wasn't sure if she'd heard him correctly.

"I said dinner, me and you, tomorrow night, if you want?"

"But I thought you didn't want to start anything right now. What about Cara?"

"Please, dinner."

"Okay." Eve agreed and smiled at Kai.

He smiled back a little. "See you tomorrow then." Kai walked away, feeling happy with himself, the thought of Cara in the back of his mind.

Eve watched Kai walk away and her smile lowered. I didn't mean to pressure him into anything right now. She thought sadly, though she was happy that she would get to see Kai again very soon.
