Jane looked around, then suddenly pulled him into a shop off to the right of the road. “Mr. Hart?”
“Ah! Miss Brenner, how are you today? Who…”
“Mr. Hart, this is Johnathan André,” Jane introduced him.
Jane looked around, then suddenly pulled him into a shop off to the right of the road. “Mr. Hart?”
“Ah! Miss Brenner, how are you today? Who…”
“Mr. Hart, this is Johnathan André,” Jane introduced him.
André blinked, taking a secod to register where she'd pulled him.
“Mr. André, how are you?” Mr. Hart asked kindly, extending his hand.
“It’s safe here,” Jane murmured. “Mr. Hart is one of my friends. He is loyal to the King.”
"A pleasure to meet you," John accepted the handshake, took a brief look around. "Do you own this shop?" He asked, trying for conversation.
"Sauteéd squash?" She elaborated, pouring something into a glass.
“Sounds delicious.” He scooted farther away from the violent chicken.
Returning, Sebastian handed the bread back to her. “I never asked for your name.”
(Good morning everyone!)"Annalise." She said, taking it back.
“Annalise.” The name felt nice in his mouth. Sebastian rubbed at a bruise on his wrist, trying for a smile. “I’m Sebastian.”
"Well, Sebastian, you seem to be a fast learner."
He gave an eloquent, one-shouldered shrug. “Thank you.”
"Good." She stepped out and brought him a glass of wine.
"A pleasure to meet you," John accepted the handshake, took a brief look around. "Do you own this shop?" He asked, trying for conversation.
"No, my father does. Please don't call me Mr. Hart, Jane, we've been over this. My name is Phillip," he said, taking Jane's hand in his own and kissing it gently.
Jane smiled. "Fine. Phillip and his family have been friends of my fathers for a long time," she explained to John.
"That's a very nice jacket," Phillip said, eyeing the material. "Very nice indeed… Lieutenant, yes?"
John nodded slowly, "Yessir, Lieutenant André, of 76th British Regiment," he smiled.
Jane proudly held onto his arm. "John and I are seeing each other, Phillip."
Phillip looked between the two of them. He opened his mouth to say something when a voice came from the back of the shop. "Phillip? Is that Jane Brenner I hear?"
"Yes, Fa-" Phillip was going to respond, but Jane was already running back to where Mr. Hart was with a huge smile on her face that resembled kid-dom.
Phillip watched her go with a smile on his face. "You're very lucky. Jane is a special girl. There aren't many like her in this world."
André looked at Phillip from that beautiful woman, "I… I noticed very fast," he smiled slowly.
Phillip sighed. "I've known her since we were both little. My father is a second father to her and hers is a second father to me."
His smile loosened down. "And she's choosing me over you?"
Phillip shrugged. "We're just friends."
He nodded, shifted his weight. "Alright.."
"But I know her better than anyone. Trust me, she loves you," Phillip smiled genuinely.
"She loves me," he echoed, like he did when something too him by surprise.
As if on cue, Jane walked back out, followed by Mr. Hart.
"Hello," Mr. Hart said kindly to John, holding out his hand. "My name is Elijah, but please call me Eli."
"Nice to meet you," he shook with his left hand, his right resting on the handle of the sword sheathed at his hip.
"Eli, this is John," Jane introduced, holding onto his arm. "John, this is Eli, Phillip's father."
Phillip muttered something, but Jane heard it.
"Take it back!" she demanded through laughs. "Take it back now!"
Phillip grinned mischievously. "Never!"
Returning, Sebastian handed the bread back to her. “I never asked for your name.”
(Good morning everyone!)"Annalise." She said, taking it back.

"Well, Sebastian, you seem to be a fast learner."
He gave an eloquent, one-shouldered shrug. “Thank you.”
She smiled gently. "I can still teach you, but I just need to find my little brothers real quick. Lord knows what trouble those boys can get themselves into."
John smiled reservedly, watching the childhood friends.
"Eli, this is John," Jane introduced, holding onto his arm. "John, this is Eli, Phillip's father."
Phillip muttered something, but Jane heard it.
"Take it back!" she demanded through laughs. "Take it back now!"
Phillip grinned mischievously. "Never!"
John smiled reservedly, watching the childhood friends.
"Take it BACK!" Jane demanded, stamping her foot on the ground. The smile on her face grew.
"Fine!" Phillip said, raising his hand innocently.
Jane giggled and poked him in the ribs.
"Good." She stepped out and brought him a glass of wine.
Pierre glanced at the wine, hesitating for a split second before accepting it. "Thank you," he told Edonine, glancing up at her with a smile.
John rubbed his nose with discomfort, but masked it well. A skill he learned from soldierhood.
Sebastian nodded, taking a step back. He rubbed at a dark bruise on his cheek, offering her a lopsided smile that was only half faked. "See you tomorrow, then? How will I find you?"
"It's French," she smiled.
Sebastian nodded, taking a step back. He rubbed at a dark bruise on his cheek, offering her a lopsided smile that was only half faked. "See you tomorrow, then? How will I find you?"
"Just meet me here." She said, turning and walking away.
Pierre had to look back down at the glass, oddly nervous all of a sudden. Still disoriented by his change in personality, he cast a glance to the violent chicken.
The chicken was distracted by a shiny bauble under the sofa, trying to peck at it.
