She smiled and grabbed his hand. "Come on then." She tugged him up the stairs and into the bathroom, opening the window and slowly hopping onto the ledge. "Just be careful, it's a pretty long fall." She crawled onto the roof and laid down again, just staring up at the star filled sky.

He followed her and laid down next to her. "Wow." The view was amazing, which was saying something since he had a new one each night. He could hear crickets chirping in the distance. That's the moment he realized: I'm stargazing with her, just like we had planned. "You know how you see a big group of stars, when you look up, that is, but then you look at individual stars and you think that they're just ultimately by themselves in a dark, blank, cold space? It's actually pretty interesting because most stars actually come in pairs." He continued to ramble a little bit about the stars he was known so well for. Each little new thing he learned about them. "Then there's always the concern about the Sun exploding and such, but the most massive stars are the shortest lived. And, compared to most, the Sun is pretty small. So, I'd say we're covered for a little bit longer. It's bound to happen, but who's to say the humans won't be extinct before then?"

"Babe, please. Just shut up and enjoy the view." She chuckled, cuddling into his side. Her sister's always thought she was insane for doing this. They thought she'd fall and die from climbing on the roof but she wasn't that dumb.

"Right sorry." The ends up his mouth curved up into a small smile that quickly faded. He was too busy watching each star 'flicker". He muttered under his breath more random facts about stars. It had become a habit now. "The stars don't actually twinkle. It's just because when the starlight comes into the atmosphere, it refracts it and makes it look like it changes position by a little." He glanced over to her quickly before adding, "Sorry."

He chuckled lightly. "I mean, whenever there are stars, I'm reciting the facts to myself because I've never….never taken anyone else stargazing. It's been only me. But I also ramble on about them when I'm nervous. Which happens to be a lot more than not."

She leaned up and kissed him gently. "It's alright, I think it's kind of cute. I will ramble the most obscure art facts you've ever heard if I can't think of something to talk about."

He let out a long sigh. "I guess you'll just be wrong then." The warmth from her lips spread throughout his entire body, warming whatever cold that came from the wind.

He brought her a little closer. He wrapped his arms around her in attempt to warm her up a little. "They're really amazing. Like, how we can see so many in some places but, like, none in others?" He paused before adding under his breath, "Stupid light pollution."

"And also, the way that stars are composed, all their mass is pulling it inward. If it weren't for one force, light, pressing it back, stars would just be collapsing into themselves until the smallest possible size. But with it, once they run out of light resistance, it collapses into a white dwarf."

She kept her kiss light, gentle, cautious. He'd been through a lot but she wanted him to know that she was here. He didn't have to feel alone because he wasn't.
