Cameron looked around for the older dog. “I don’t think she needs to go out, love. I’ll take her out anyway.”
Cameron looked around for the older dog. “I don’t think she needs to go out, love. I’ll take her out anyway.”
“Thank you,” Lilah sighed as she turned around and called for her dog.
Lilac looked up from her place near the oven, her tongue lolling out of her mouth.
Lilah smiled and called her over. “Wanna go for a walk? Cam’s gonna take you on a walk!”
At “walk”, Lilac’s tail started wagging, and she slowly made her way to her feet. She ambled over to Lilah and Cameron, nosing both of them in the leg.
Cameron smiled warmly and rubbed the dog’s head, cooing softly down at her. “Daww Lilac. You wanna go for a walk, girl? Let’s go for a walk.” He grabbed up her leash as Lily barked loudly.
Lilac woofed at the younger dog, as if telling her to be quiet. She nosed Lily’s muzzle and wagged her tail as she waited for the walk.
Lilah chuckled softly and kissed Cameron’s cheek again. “I’ll see you in a bit, then,” she said before disappearing into the nursery to get Tobias.
Cameron smiled and patted her cheek gently. “Good luck, babe.” He looked down at the dogs, patting their heads gently.
“Ready to go girls?”
Lilac barked and wagged her tail at him, very ready to go.
In the nursery, Lilah picked Tobias up out of the crib so he would stop crying. She sat down in the rocking chair, hoping to get him back to sleep.
Lily barked loudly in response, pushing her head up into his hand. Cameron laughed and opened the door and plodded outside with the dogs.
Tobias continued crying and crying, shoving his face into her shirt.
“What, Tobs? Are you hungry? Or do you need your diaper changed?” Lilah wondered. She chewed on her lip and pulled his diaper out so she could check it. “Hm, diaper. Definitely.”
Tobias slowly calmed down but he was still whining and crying into her shirt. He felt dirty and nasty with the bag on.
Lilah clicked her tongue and stood, carrying him over to the changing table. She quickly disposed of the dirty diaper and wrapped him in a new one.
“There. All better, now,” she cooed to her son, kissing his little nose.
Tobias fussed until the diaper was removed and he was cleaned up and freshened. He fell silent, other than his soft breathing. He rose his hands for her.
Lilah kissed his little hands before picking him up. She carried him back over to the rocking chair and sat down, humming softly as she tried to get him to sleep.
Tobias slowly dozed into her shirt, but he fussed back awake. He rose his head a little and cried loudly again.
Lilah sighed and looked down at him. “You’re hungry, aren’t you? Okay, honey,” she said softly, grabbing the blanket from the back of the chair and covering him and herself.
Tobias quieted down when he was wrapped up and started to suckle peacefully. Once he was full, he set his head down on her shoulder and continued to doze.
Lilah smiled down at him as she wrapped the blanket around him, keeping him warm. She went back to humming softly and rocked him, her eyelids drooping tiredly. She could really use a nap, but she had to finish packing…
(*unpacking
Aren’t they already there?)
Tobias dropped off into sleep quickly, his hands curling up slowly on her shirt. He breathed audibly but cutely, as his tiny face scrunched up in sleep.
(blinks Oh… Idk, I guess. That would work. I'll edit it in a sec.)
Maybe Cameron would come back soon, and she could just go sleep… Gosh, this whole parenting thing was so tiring…
Lilah sighed and gathered the baby up in her arms, then walked over to the crib and laid him down gently. "Sleep well, my little boy…" she whispered before turning to walk out of the room.
Tobias didn’t wake as she stood, set him down and walked away. He went back to being the cute, sleepy boy he was.
Cameron was walking around with the pair of dogs, trying to get his body moving and to meet the new neighbors. Lily was sniffing everything in her vicinity, and Cam had to tug on her to bring her back.
Lilah smiled as she closed the door, leaving it open just a crack so she would be able to hear him crying if he woke up. She made her way to the living room and sat down in front of an open box. As she pulled things out, she smiled, remembering when she and Cameron had bought it, taken the picture, or when she'd had it at her old home.
After a wonderful walk-around with the dogs and a few chats with neighbors, Cam turned for back home. Within no time he was back, where he slowly opened the door and unleashed the dogs.
Lilah, thoroughly exhausted, had fallen alseep near the couch. A picture was clutched tightly to her chest, and it didn’t look like she would be letting go of it any time soon.
Cameron nosed into the living room in search of his wife. He smiled when he spotted her and silently made his way towards her.
“Morning, love,” He said softly.
Lilah stirred awake at the sound of her husband's voice. She blinked up at him sleepily and gave him a small smile.
"You're back… Hi. How did your walk go?" she wondered with a yawn as she slowly sat up and set the picture to the side.
Cameron itched the side of his fuzzy face and he grinned. “Did I wake you? My walk went wonderful. It’s good to get up and moving.”
“You did, but that’s okay. I didn’t mean to fall asleep. I’m glad your walk went well,” she said, rubbing her eyes. “Did you meet anyone?”
Cameron gently patted her head and moved around the couch to sit. “Not really. But I did see a lot of the houses.”
Lilah hummed and pushed herself up to sit beside him. “That’s nice… The dogs were good?”
(Don’t mind my user, lol. It’s a protest.)
Cameron wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “Yep. Lily had a grand old time sniffing around.”
(Oh. Lol. Okay.)
“That’s good,” Lilah chuckled, leaning into him and curling her legs up. “I unpacked a bit more, so were really close to being finished.”
