Cameron squished his face up sleepily and set it back down on her shoulder. “But… no…” He said one last time.
Cameron squished his face up sleepily and set it back down on her shoulder. “But… no…” He said one last time.
Lilah chuckled softly, kissing his nose after he had fallen asleep. While he slept and she waited for the pizza to be delivered, she pet and talked to the dogs, telling them all about the new house they would be living in.
Lily borked softly when Lilah talked to her, leaning forward over Cam’s softly rising form as he slept. She nosed Lilah’s face, wagging her stump happily.
Lilah laughed quietly, trying not to wake Cameron, and leaned over to kiss the dog's wet nose. "Shh, Lily… Don't wake him up…"
Lily gruffed softly again, licking Lilah’s face excitedly. She wiggled closer, resting her elbows on Cameron’s tummy as he slept.
Lilah chuckled and booped the dog's nose. On her other side, Lilac was sleeping peacefully, forelegs resting in Lilah's lap with her black nose buried in her paws.
Lily barked softly and licked Lilah’s finger, then went down to Lilac, nosing her gently. She wanted to wake up the older dog so they could play.
Lilac looked up and woofed softly, booping the other dog's nose with her own. A knock on the door caused her to turn her head and bark sharply at it. After that, she didn't really care about who was there and went back to her nap.
Lilah chuckled an carefully stood, immediately missing the warmth of two dogs and her husband. She sighed and made her way to the door to get the pizza.
Lily barked happily, thumping her stub and booping Llilac in return. She sat up on Cam, barking loudly a couple times and quieting down like a good girl.
Cameron blinked awake slowly.
Lilac booped the younger dog's nose again. She licked at her snout before resting her head on Cameron.
Lilah, on the other hand, was paying for the pizza and lemonade. She handed the delivery guy the money, along with a tip, and turned back to the living room. Walking back to the couch, she chuckled at the dogs and man on the couch.
"Well, good morning, my love. Pizza?" she greeted him softly.
Cameron lazily put a hand on Lily’s head, who was wiggling on him excitedly. He blinked slowly, his eyes still droopy with sleep.
“Mmm… how long has it been?” He sat up slowly. “Pizza? Sure…”
"Maybe fifteen minutes? Sorry, I tried to keep the dogs from waking you," Lilah apologized as she wiggled between him and Lilac again. "We don't need plates… We can just eat over the box, right?"
Cameron nodded and sat up a bit more. Lily barked softly in protest.
“Yeah. That’s alright. I’ll just go back to sleep.”
"…Could we move to our bed before you fall asleep again? I'd like to snuggle with you, but minus the dogs," Lilah said as she opened the box of pizza.
Cameron leaned his head down onto her shoulder. “But they’re so warm…”
“I know, babe,” Lilah chuckled. “But I want to spend some time alone with you. We hardly get to do that anymore.”
Cameron yawned lightly and shrugged. “Alright. We can go into the bedroom once we’re done eating, yeah?”
“Sounds good,” Lilah said, picking up a slice of pizza. “How come you’re so tired?”
Cameron rubbed his face, yawning. “Dunno… I stayed up all night for like, no reason.”
Lilah hummed sympathetically. “Well, you can sleep when we cuddle, then. I’ll try to keep the dogs from waking you.”
Cameron nodded hazily, biting into his pizza. “Wonderful plan.”
Lilah smiled at him softly and kissed his cheek before going back to eating her pizza. “Mm… This is good…”
Cameron nodded again, smiling. “Mmm… it is.”
(Should we skip? Lol. Maybe to when they move?)
(Sure thing.)
(Okie-dokie.)
Lilah sighed as the dogs barked and the baby cried, causing a commotion of epic proportions. She rubbed at her temples, just knowing that a headache would soon be blooming. They were almost done moving everything. Almost. She just needed some quiet time in order to stop the feeling that she was going to go insane with all the noise.
Cameron sighed softly from the kitchen, poking his head from the doorway after tripping over a few boxes.
“Lily!” He snapped at the dog, who was prancing around the door.
“Cam, please… Don’t yell. My head hurts…” Lilah muttered, rubbing at her forehead with the heel of her hand. “Do you mind if I go take a quick break?”
Cameron sighed softly and strode across the first floor to grab Lily’s leash. “Sure. I’m going to take Lily out, so try and come back soon. But relax.”
Lilah gave him a weary smile and walked over to kiss his cheek gently. “Thanks, babe. Would you mind taking Lilac out, too? That way I can focus on Tobs and myself.”
