Not at all!)
(Okies!)
Fae gripped Cruz’s hand like a lifeline as they walked, eyes darting back and forth every now and then. “Almost there.”, she told him.
"Alright." He spoke, trying to come off as reassuring as possible.
Something on Cruz’s voice put her more at ease, and she focused on the sound of it, recalling all the beautiful things he’d said to her.
(Should Fae sneak around the back and up to her room or risk going through the bakery?)
Sneaky )
He looked around calmly.
Far resisted the urge to jump every time she caught sight of a balding man with a black beard. Struggling to keep her voice steady, she looked up at Cruz. “Do you write songs often?”
"Nope." He replied. "I write notes often, scratch down ideas. Rarely does it turn into a full song,"
“Do you play a lot then? Or maybe, are you in some sort of band?”
"No band.. just myself." He smiled, "I do have ayoutube account with a song or two.. and yours.."
“Really?” She smiled, somewhat weakly. “That sounds cool, what’s your name so I can find you?”
"Spanglish," he grinned broadly.
She laughed, leaning against him. “Beautiful, Cruz.”
"Hah! Are you excited?" He laughed and laughed.
“‘Course! Your songs must be amazing!” Her tension has eased mostly by now.
"Somebody called me a godforsaken twerp on my first song,"
Fae stopped. “Ignore the haters.”, she grinned at him.
"Haha!! Wise words,"
She chuckled lightly, head spinning. “Hey Cruz? If you want, we have eclairs is the bakery, I could grab you some.”
"I'd like that," he smiled, "Cherry,"
“I love it when you call me that.”, she said quietly, smiling.
"Why?" He mused, tilting his head a little towards her.
“Why wouldn’t I? It’s so sweet.”
He kissed her cheek briefly, "Love you."
Fae leaned into him. “I will never get enough of you saying that.”, she murmured. “Love you too.” They rounded the corner to the bakery, and Fae hurriedly finger brushed her hair and made herself look like nothing had happened.
He kept his eyes on her while she tussled her hair to look presentable. She made it so easy for him to lose his breath.
Fae felt Cruz’s eyes in her, and looked up at him, slightly flustered. “What?”
"You're so beautiful…" he admired back, a chessy smile washing over his face.
Fae’s cheeks went pink as a rush of pleasure and something unidentifiable coursed through her. “I-I am?”, she stammered.
Sabine slid down father into the blankets as they watched the rest of the movie, her head settled on Macha's shoulder. She was glad that Macha understood what she was going through.
