Myrah grinned at Noah, "Of course. But I have you to make the day much more bearable."
Myrah grinned at Noah, "Of course. But I have you to make the day much more bearable."
Noah's smile faltered. "About that– I may not be around for long."
Myrah's smile fell. She grew concerned, "Did you, we, get caught?"
Noah shook his head quickly. "No– but the General is giving out promotions today. A promotion means a higher position and……… and a task away from the castle. Even if I don't get this one, I'll get one eventually."
Myrah let out a sigh, "Well maybe I'll just ask for you to be my guard. That's a promotion right?"
"It's a promotion, but I'd be skipping two steps in the…. sort of hierarchy among knights. They wouldn't allow that."
Myrah frowned now with a sigh, "Oh. So you have to leave me no matter what happens?"
Noah looked away dejectedly. "I'm sorry. I'll be able to visit! And eventually I'll be in a high enough position to be a personal guard."
Myrah gently moved so she could see his face. A gentle smile was on it, "It's fine. I just don't know how I'll be able to survive without you until then."
Noah tried for a smile. "Me neither… I hope we have a little longer together. Maybe I won't get promoted today."
Myrah grinned, "I hope you don't. I've been out here for a while, so my tutor is probably wondering where I am."
“Aw , does that mean you have to leave now?” Noah squeezed her hand again.
Myrah laughed and squeezed back, "No, I can stay a while longer love."
Noah raised her hand to his face and kissed it. “Good.”
Myrah blushed a little. Noah was such a gentlemen. She grinned, "Extremely good."
Noah peppered the back of her hand with tiny kisses, smiling up at her bashfully. “Mmhm.”
Myrah leaned down and kissed his lips before pulling back up, "Mmmmhm indeed."
Noah grinned, leaning in again but stopping at the last second. Not here. He didn’t want to risk being seen.
Myrah’s eyes quickly glanced around, no one. No one came here except her. She peaned in the rest of the way gently putting their lips together.
Noah grinned, slipping his hands around her waist and pulling her to him. He leaned her backwards slightly, kissing her hard.
Myrah looped her arms around his neck, like she was going to fall backwards. She let him kiss her, kissing him back ever so roughly.
Noah leaned into the kiss, savouring the way his mouth fit perfectly on top of Myrah's. He held her tightly so that she wouldn't fall, but was careful not to hurt her. That was the last thing he wanted.
Myrah wasn't going to get hurt. She loved how they fit together, two pieces in a puzzle. This was how it should be, how it may not be soon. Myrah didn't want that, she liked them together.
Finally, he forced himself to pulled away, eyes glimmering. "I'm going to miss you.."
Myrah had a sad grin on her face. Her eyes glistened slightly, "I'm really going to miss you too…"
"I might not be going yet…" he murmured, swallowing.
(what do you think? how could we get him to stay?)
(Ummmmmm, he could not get promoted. What all are the positions at the castle for the guards?)
"Well I hope you never leave," Myrah whispered quietly. Her tutor had probably left already, that was fine by her.
(uhh good question. Exterior guard, interior guard, personal guard, I guess? Maybe they promote him to personal guard anyways? Maybe since she's getting older the King tells her to pick any Knight to be her guard?)
"Me too," he whispered, fighting back the beginning of tears.
(I like that idea. It makes sense too.)
Myrah felt tears start to trickle down, "I'll find some higher position for you at the castle. That way you can't leave me."
"Hey, don't cry," he whispered, gently wiping her tears away with his thumb, just as his own began to fall. "It'll be alright, I promise.. I love you."
