Joshua: Okay. ^^
Tucking the phone in his pocket, Joshua sprinted the last of the way over to Dani's apartment. Sliding to a stop in front of the door, he rapped lightly on the door frame.
"Hello?"
(It's just that one of Dani's brothers had to wear glasses and she always used to tease him about it. Ace has already become a kind of brother figure to Dani. And I have an idea for you @Nerd. Just a suggestion. What if Ace came really close to death and was in like a coma so the other characters are devastated and go to avenge their friend and blablabla, and so he still motivates them but doesn't die.)
Soft singing could be heard from where Ana sat. It wasn't really lyrics, more like singing the same notes the guitar played. It was gentle and sweet, but it held that soft melancholy that always seemed to float with her. This is probably the most comfortable she's been around anyone yet. Does…Does she even realize they're there?
Dani looked up at Joshua and smiled. She pulled herself off the couch and hugged him with relief. "Boy am I glad to see you. Come on." She looked at Macha. "Macha this is my friend Joshua."
Dani glanced at Ana. "Let's let her keep doing what she's doing. She looks happy." She said it loud enough for Ana to hear.
She heard the voices of the others which snapped her out of her daze. The music stopping abruptly. Her cheeks turning a light pink. "Um….s-sorry…" she said sheepishly, putting the guitar away.
(Okay quick thing for clarification: Is everyone in Dani's apartment?)
"No, keep doing what you were doing. Dani told Ana. "Your music is beautiful."
(Yes @Mish. There are several descriptions of the different parts of the apartment if you look back.)
Her blush darkened but she just shook her head. "It's fine…I …I don't wanna be a bother or anything." she mumbled softly looking down at her feet.
(They are quite beautiful descriptions too.)
"You're not bothering anyone." Dani said gently. "Keep going!" She encouraged Ana.
"N-No…um…really…I shouldn't" She said growing more bashful by the minute. Ana looked away again, unsure of what to do in this situation now. They were asking! She should do it. It was the least she could do. What is she..proud?
Ace laughed, "Just do what I do, set your expectations really low and then when you get something like, I don't know, a cheeseburger, you can actually be happy about that day. Oh and you won't cry. But that's just what I do and I'm really messed up so…Yeah." he smiled at Peter, his purple eyes lighting up, almost electrically. "On a side note, do you happen to have a pair of glasses?" Ace shifted his position, a red blush covering his face.
Also Natasha, in plan 2, I was thinking that Ace realizes that the Terror's are too powerful and goes up to them in the midst of the battle. He attacks them and they start piling into his body where they try to rip him apart from the inside. Ace gets rushed into the hospital and his pulse goes dead. Everyone is devastated, but the Terror's are at least gone right? Plot twist! The Terrors bring Ace back to life so they can continue their rampage of destruction, but because the Terror's are inside his body, the team have to fight him. Someone stabs him in the chest and Ace is once again proclaimed dead. Until Ace in his own subconscious is fighting the Terror's but he keeps getting knocked down. He finally fights them off and wakes up to find Macha directly above him, crying, along with the rest of the crew. Ace flashes a smile and jokes, "Death runs in the family, I never thought I'd be the first to come back." and then he passes out.
(Oooooohh I like that!!!!)
Peter lifted a thumb to push tears off his bottom eyelid, "Uh, only sunglasses, way back home. I don't have any momey to buy any, but I'm, unfortunately… very adept at stealing,"
(Do that!!!!!!!!!!)
"Oh, okay. I just…It's….I'm okay." Ace masked his disappointment and tried to swallow his pride. He'd have to ask Dani now.
(But he doesn't get taken to the hospital. They would take him to TGR)
(Haha. Dani does keep her brother's glasses so they should work on him.)
"Why? What's happened to your eyesight?" Peter asked, bringing his feather-messy wings to a relaxed fold.
"Nothing." Ace mumbled, "I just can't read anymore, also I can't see you if you're too far away."
Blake woke up with his head pounding. God he needed water. After a quick glance around he realized he was still in the abandoned station. It was definitely night now. He'd already wasted a day of searching. His hands went to his holster, clamming up as he felt the cold metal of the gun and the file on Ace tucked safely next to it. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stood up, stretching his cramped wings. He slowly undid the bandage around his next wing, but the wound seemed to have healed itself quickly.
"Hello? Anyone else here?" Blake called out into the darkness, but none one responded. He felt his heart sink a little. He'd been half hoping Josh might be somewhere nearby. Forget about him, Thorfin. You have a mission.
Blake sighed, raking his hands through his messy hair. The thought sounded more like Commander Ryker's than his own. But then again, since when did his own opinions matter? Blake is a soldier. He gets orders and follows them no matter what. That's just how life is. He reached down into his pocket and pulled out a note that had yellowed long ago. With shaky hands, he unfolded it.
To Our Dearest Blake,
It will be a long time before you can actually read this, but your father and I agreed you deserve to have an explaination. We had to leave you with the R.A.C. because they will train you to protect yourself without magic. You would have been unable to survive living with magic users for parents, Blake. You'd have grown up defenseless. I sincerely hope you understand we are doing this to protect you.
Train hard Blake,
Mr. & Mrs. Thorfin
He'd always thought his mom wrote kind of funny. She was so formal. The again, it was like talking to a stranger. The others at the barracks always joked that it looked like Commander Ryker's handwriting, but Blake knew better. His parents had left him one piece of paper as proof. Proof that he had an identity and that identity was a soldier at the R.A.C. But things were better now. He was making a difference. Closing the gap between the magic and non-magic so no more children can be cast aside and unwanted. No more little boys trailing behind army commanders asking for a bedtime story. No more young halfbreeds like Blake being locked in dark rooms by older recruits, waiting hours on end for someone to rescue them. His hero that day had been the janitor who was simply looking for paper towels, but it meant the world to Blake.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Blake lightly traced the printed heading the the top right corner that read: R.A.C. Seattle Office, along with its address and phone number. His mother must've written the note while she was dropping him off. It loooked rushed too. Blake liked to think that maybe the real reason he was left behind was that his mother was a top secret spy for the R.A.C. and left him there to hide him from a mortal enemy, or something cool like that. Maybe after he kills Ace, Commander Ryker will let him find his family…
Blake folded the note back up and stuffed it in his pocket again. After a few tentative wing beats, he was up in the air and heading towards the exit. It was time to start his mission.
AWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! Blake is so cuuute!
I mean, killing someone? Hello, adorable!
(XD)
(Lol @Nerd I meant for him to be evil, but I don't think I have the heart to do that too him. I'm pretty sure he's just a big puppy.)
(Hmmm…….. Blake the puppy.)
