“It’s a bunch of people who work together.” Micheal glanced shyly up at her.
“It’s a bunch of people who work together.” Micheal glanced shyly up at her.
"Oh." She adjusted a little. "Okay."
Micheal nodded slowly. “Any more questions?” He didn’t mind questions.
"Umm…" She needed to be careful, but she wanted to know. "Why are humans- I mean we- so sad all the time?"
“Oh.” Micheal looked down again. “I am not sure. A lot of us aren’t raised very well.”
"…Were you?" That is what we call intrusive.
But I want to find out why he's so sad!
Doesn't mean you can go and ask him that!
Micheal shrugged and twined his fingers together. “I think so.”
He's lying. She didn't want to push him. She'd already asked enough. "Okay."
She was right. He knew he was raised bad. But he couldn’t bring himself to tell her.
“S-sorry.”
"Why are you apologizing?" Humans, or at least this one, says sorry a lot. "You don't have anything to be sorry for.*
Micheal blinked up at her. “But I did something bad. I had to apologize.”
"I'm…" He didn't seem to have done anything wrong. "I Don't understand."
“I did something bad,” He repeated softly, looking back down at his hands in shame.
She lowered her voice to match his. It was a gentle yet concerning tone. "What?"
“I lied,” He admitted, even softer than his previous statements.
"But I mean, I asked a lot of questions you didn't have to answer." She began to ramble let a little. "And you did answer them. That's more than I asked for or really I don't know. What I mean is I'm sorry if I pushed you, I didn't mean to sorry."
Micheal was still staring idly down at his lap. He didn’t feel like she was at fault he had lied.
“B-but, I…I lied.”
"And?" She continued. "I lied. Like, a lot. So, I'd assume it's okay if you did too. I promise I'm not going to get mad at you for it."
Micheal blinked, confused. He was always punished for lying. He was always beat and told he was stupid and useless.
“Are-are you sure?”
"Yes." Although it felt off to promise something like that, she felt he needed it. She wasn't sure why.
“Okay.” He swallowed nervously. “Thank you.” He wasn’t sure why he was thanking her.
"No problem." She looked to him. He seemed down. But doesn't he always? "You okay there?"
Micheal glanced up slowly and nodded. “‘M okay.”
"I know that's a lie, but okay." She was always good at finding lies. (Sorry, little bit busy. At a robitics competition)
(That’s okay)
Micheal hugged himself. He hadn’t realized that he lied again. “I-I’m sorry.”
"It's okay to lie sometimes. And to not be okay." She sighed. "I really want to help. I want to make you smile. But first, you need to stop saying sorry."
Micheal wasn’t sure how to do that. He’d always been told to stop apologizing, but it was from an angry, scolding voice that made him burst into tears. Thinking about it made his eyes well up.
Her voice was gentle and kind, careful with his broken heart. "You don't have anything to be sorry for. You're a pretty cool guy, okay?"
(Micheal being sad is making me feel sad lmao)
Micheal wiped tears away but it was fruitless. Thinking of their angry voices, any voice that was ever yelling and mean at him made him close to sobs. He was weak.
(XD my mood)
She watched as the tears fell and began to walk up to him. I might regret this but… Her arms wrapped around him gently. "You seemed like you need a hug."
