Kaden was walking through the halls with Elizabeth over his shoulder when he heard the clicking sound. A sound no human or mortal made. He mentally groaned and set Elizabeth down, pushing her behind him and flattening her up against the wall. He took his bracelet off and it morphed into a sword. "Whatever you do, don't intervene."

A blush crept up to her cheek. “W-what? No way! I’m technically, it’s 2 AM… I’m technically 17! I’m more than capable of taking care of myself. Why can’t i intervene?!”

"Because I don't want your death on my hands. Besides, you don't seem like a fighter to me." His eyes scanned the hallway, waiting for the monster to approach.

Alex heard Elizabeth protesting from down the hall. She got up and followed the sound. "Elizabeth are you ok?"

“Yes and no.” Elizabeth grumbled.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Alex asked looking between her and Kaden. "Whats with you Kaden?"

Elizabeth’s face flushed, and she tried to cover her embarrassment with an eye roll.

"Elizabeth. Kaden whats going on?" Alex asked hand moving to her swords noticing Kaden having his sword drawn

“There’s and inhumane sound.” Elizabeth sighed.

"What? where?" Alex exclaimed whirling around

“The only answer I can give you would be, in this general area.”

"that's very specific. why dont you have-" Alex said about to ask about her sword then she saw Kaden. "oh I see" Alex said

“Exactly.”

"and how old are you?" Alex asked pointedly

“17.” She grumbled, slightly glaring at the back of Kaden’s head.

"Exactly. He is 18. one year older than you. one year" Alex paused "Doesn't matter in our world"

“Actually probably 2 years.”

"He is 18. your 17"

“… i’m like 96% sure it’s 2 years.”

"I think it depends on his birthday but you may be right. im not to good with time, or math"

Elizabeth chuckled.
