“I was told that this class was going to be some sort of training class… but I guess it was just rumors.” Kanamara said as he undid his tie and placed it in his bag. He slowly unbuttoned the jacket covering the nice white dress shirt, he placed that in the bag as well. Its so fucking hot in here. They need to turn on the AC or something, it’s fucking August!
Eden was unaffected by the heat. He had messed around with holy fire enough that heat wasn't even an issue with him anymore. "Oh, that sounds like fun! My sister said she heard this was some dumb 'sit and take noted until your fingers fall off' type class and I fucking hate those."
“It seems to be an adnormal class…” Kanamara sighed.
Just then the teacher took out a ruler. “Okay listen up! This class isn’t your normal everyday history class, this class is a class where we test are skills! If you don’t drink coffee yet you better be on that shit because I swear you will be tired after just one day. And if you were wondering this is just learning fighting skills and true magic. You are not going to survive if you are little Jimmy with the spaghetti noodle arms or the one who doesn’t hit people. You will make enemies, and you better make friends fast or you’re going to be a main target. That is all.”
Eden felt his face go from bored but trying to pay attention to childlike glee. This was the kind of class he could succeed in. He knew how to fight and he kind of knew how to use magic- even if he had set himself on fire too often to really know what he was doing- so there was no way he wasn't going to have fun. "Oh fuck yeah! Looks like you were right, Kanamara."
Kanamara fearfully stopped moving. Damnit! I hate fighting… He knew that he could fight well and was pretty good at using his magic, but the thought of making someone hurt made him feel really sorry for the poor defenseless angend demons who never fought in there life. But he also felt very excited to beat the living shit out of the Angels that call him a mint higlighter. “Yeah… I’m right… that’s a first…” He started gaining his confidence back quickly. An opportunity to get the bullies to stop without getting suspended? HELL YEAH!
Eden ignored the weird little freeze that Kanamara just did for… well Eden didn't really know why he did it, but it also didn't matter. Whatever Kanamara did wasn't really his problem, especially when he was hyping himself up over getting to smack people around. Smacking people around was his favorite sport. "Do you wanna team up? The teacher said we should make friends and you seem pretty cool."
(Sorry I took so long.)
Kanamara smiled widely, “sure thing.”
Thats weird, I’m never usually this happy, especially when dad yells at me like that. Kanamara looked over at the teacher, she seemed like she was eager to start.
The teacher suddenly smacked her desk with her ruler. “Alright class, we will begin today! I’m going to explain it first. After we get are teams together, we will go outside to the training auditorium. There I will put you with another team and that’s who you will be fighting with. After every team is out wi5h another, then we will begin. You will be graded on your proformance and will get bonus points for a 5 streak. After a week of fighting we will review how we did, and which team did the best. I will meet you guys there, and for anyone who can teleport, you will get a zero for the day if you use that power.”
The teacher teleported herself to the training auditorium, the Kanamara got up from his chair. “I guess we should head down there.
(All good, just a warning I probably won't be answering until around now for a while because I have finals to prep for)
Eden stood up when Kanamara stood up, deciding to follow this kid's lead for a while. He wondered if he'd get to use his angelic form, and then decided that he didn't care much about rules anyway. If he decided to use the angel form, he was going to use the angel for. "Totally. Let's get going." He grabbed Kanamara's hand and began dragging him down to the auditorium, already wondering what kind of fighting he should try out.
Kanamara smiled. “Alright!”
Eden scampered out into the hall, new partner in tow. He got halfway down a set of stairs before he realized he had no idea where the training auditorium was. "Hey, where do we go? I forgot."
Kanamara scratched his head and giggled nervously. “She told us where to go but… I was distracted….”
"Remember where the training auditorium is? I know she said something about that." Eden looked around for a map, deciding that this school really didn't have enough signage. He was totally going to complain until he figured out how to get around.
Kanamara grabbed his hand and walked outside. “This might sound strange but I’m going to follow th scent of the teacher…” He started heading in a random direction, and eventually found the auditorium. “Wow. It actually worked!”
While Eden thought the sniffing out the teacher thing was weird, he had seen other angels do some much weirder shit. Besides, it had helped them get to the auditorium. "Cool!" He held out his hand for a high five.
Kanamara shyly high fived him. “I guess we’re the first ones here.”
Een grinned, looking around the near-empty auditorium. It looked like the teacher was the only person here, hanging around in the background. The other students hadn't even begun to trickle in. "Cool! That means we get to talk about shit!"
Kanamara smiled. “Yeah! So where are you from?” Kanamara knew that if he was going to be a team with this guy, at least he can get to know him first.
"Havenborough! It's like… a mile or so from here. We have this huge backyard so we can fly around and cast magic and all that crap. How about you? Where're you from?"
Kanamara giggles nervously. “Have you ever heard of the kingdom of hell’s world? Well… I’m kind of the king….”
Eden could feel his jaw drop. The king? Like… future ruler of all of hell? That was Kanamara, who just timidly hi-fived him and had been spacing out in the classroom? That nerd was… "Dude! That's so cool! What's being a king like? How many laws have you made?"
Kanamara sighed. “Yeah… seems cool… it’s so stupid… my dad was always a great ruler, and I’m such a moron… all my laws are usually trash and I need a queen or something to fully rule… it’s awful… school is my only free time and no one treats me like a normal person…”
Eden took that in and then decided that he was just gonna treat Kanamara like he would anyone else. There were standards for everyone, no matter how high or low class they were. "You don't need to worry about that with me. I treat everyone the same, no matter how rich." He jostled the demon's hair with a smirk.
Kanamara smiled. “You know what? You’re right. This is my softmore year, I shouldn’t worry about that. I’m not even supposed to be an official king till after senior year.”
Kanamara's hair was really soft. Eden kept playing with it, twining it between his fingers as he replied. "Go for it, man. It's your life, so you get to do what you want. Right?"
Kanamara felt somewhat bothered by the playing of his hair, but it put him at ease at the same time. “Yeah! And even though I’m not know as a king by everyone, my closest friends don’t even know. You are the only one who goes to school here that knows about it.”
Eden felt kind of honored. The only person who knew was him. Only him. Nobody else. Having such a huge secret felt kind of weird. "Really? That's so sweet! Thanks for telling me, I promise nobody else will know!" He mimed locking his mouth and throwing away the key.
Kanamara giggled. “Well I’m glad you won’t tell… I feel like I can trust you.”
"Aww, thanks. You feel pretty trustworthy too." Eden patted Kanamara on the head before untangling his hand from the demon's hair and setting them at his sides. "Um… what else do you wanna know? I'm kind of an open book."
Kanamara thought to himself for a second. “Hmm… well… how about if you would meet my friends? They have some angel friends of their own.”
Eden nodded enthusiastically. Meeting new people was something that he loved. If you had a bunch of friends, you had a bunch of people to pick you up and keep you up. "Sure! Tell me about them so I'm not a mess when we meet."
