Lilah smiled at him and kissed his cheek. “Yup. Thank you, babe.”
Lilah smiled at him and kissed his cheek. “Yup. Thank you, babe.”
Cameron smiled and looked at her. “What are you thanking me for?”
“Just… Being here. With me,” Lilah said with a shrug.
Cameron laughed softly and kissed her cheek. “It’s my job!”
“I know! But I’m still glad yo do it,” Lilah giggled.
Cameron smiled a bit more and looked up. “I am too. You deserve it.”
“Aw… Thanks… You deserve it, too,” Lilah said softly.
Cameron grinned even wider and stepped up to the walk-in portion of the hospital.
“Well, here we are,” He announced to her.
“Great…” Lilah sighed as she stepped up to the front desk.
(Skip?)
(Yep! To when?)
(After the appointment?)
(Sounds neat)
Lilah was grinning widely by the end of the appointment and was only partially listening to what the doctor was saying. It was all in the folder she’d given the couple, anyway, so it wasn’t like Lilah really needed to hear it.
They had an ultrasound appointment set for the next month, which would mostly just be a checkup on the baby’s vitals. They would also be checking the number of children Lilah was carrying, but the doctor suspected that it was only one.
Cameron had sucked in every each word of the doctor’s advice, which ranged to mental, physical and diet health. He told them to watch her weight, watch her diet, despite how much food she might want to eat, it should be mostly on the healthy side so the baby doesn’t get too heavy, and Lilah’s exercise habits.
Cameron walked out grinning and clinging to the folder they were given anxiously, his tummy curled up in one excited knot.
Lilah leaned over and kissed Cameron as soon as they were let out. And then she kissed him again. And again. And again.
“I can’t believe it… I just— Wow…” she giggled, kissing him yet again.
Cameron giggled giddily with her, wiggling happily and covering her face in gentle kisses.
“It’s wonderful!” Cameron responded in a soft whisper.
“Babe! I swear, sometimes you act like a puppy,” Lilah laughed as she was covered in kisses.
Cameron laughed happily and pulled away, his droopy eyes glimmering. “I was raised by one.”
“Oh, so Lily raised you? Hm, that explains the fleas in the bed,” Lilah teased.
Cameron stuck out his tongue. “There aren’t flees in the bed. Lily would never get flees.”
“No, but you might,” Lilah chuckled, kissing him again before she started toward the door. “Now, I believe we were talking about cheesecake earlier.”
Cameron blinked after her and bobbed after her. “The doctor said you should try and eat healthy, babe.”
“It’s just a slice of cheesecake, Cameron. It’s not going to kill me,” Lilah declared, grinning at him over her shoulder.
Cameron mumbled something under his breath and sighed. “If you’re sure.”
Lilah's grin faltered a bit when she saw the look on his face. "What? Are you really that worried about it?"
Cameron squeezed the folder into a little arch shape. “I… I guess I am.” He turned a faint red.
Lilah turned back around so she was facing him fully. "Babe, I'll be all right. I'm healthy, and the baby will be, too."
Cameron unsquished the folder and sighed, looking down at his feet. “Okay. I know. I’m sorry.”
Lilah cupped his face in her hands and gently pulled him to her for a soft kiss. “It’s all right, Cam. And you know what? I don’t really want cheesecake anymore.”
Cameron grabbed her hands carefully, so he didn’t scratch her with it.
“Are you sure?”
