(In where?)
Underwater he couldn't see properly. Any vision he had was blurred and the shark-like male's quick movements didn't help. It would do him no good to shift and he would lose his breath eventually. Aaron wasn't used to being the weak one in a fight, he wasn't used to being the prey. So instead he went into fight or flight mode, closing his eyes as he kicked as hard as he could. All he could think was that he needed to get loose and back above the water as pain rushed through him, his enemy still ripping at the flesh of his arm. He summoned one of his thin blades, swinging blindly in hopes he'd be let go. With no sight and the water slowing his motions he didn't know if he was doing any real damage like he had their first fight, and it began to have fear slowly grab him. He couldn't call for help without losing the air he had, and the fear gripped him a bit faster not knowing if he'd driven the others too far away for them to want to help. He could only fight and hope, and being optimistic wasn't one of his strengths.
Night looked around underwater. Shades could breath underwater so she had no worries about herself. Though she was starting to worry about Aaron. Night had seen how long humans can last underwater and it wasn't long. He had about 3 minutes at most. Night spotted Aaron trying to slash at the shark like thing. She went over to him. In a attempt to free him self she was letting precious air go. She covered his mouth. "Air." She thought "He needs air." She looked around.
Now, unlike the other 2, his vision was perfect underwater, though he kept his eyes closed in order to protect them from the thrashing prey. Though due to the predatory nature of a Great White, he also inherited the creatures extreme senses. It was here he was meant to be, in the water where once again he was the top of the food chain.
As Aaron thrashed around, he did manage to kick the male enough to loosen his grip. Though the blindly swinging of that blade made him also fully release. He felt the vibrations, heard every movement. His electroreception senses tingling constantly. There was blood in the water, and the predator was excited. There was just a tinge of fear there as the prey started to panic.
He whipped his legs as they acted as fins, propelling him swiftly away. Despite the appearance above, the water in the pool was surprisingly deep, an illusion to trick those above, before they were dragged into the depths to be drowned, then feasted upon by him…when he was allowed to of course.
Either way, he was quickly back. His jaws opened wide, aiming to clamp down on one of Aaron's flailing legs. Though his senses picked up more movement in the water. There was another nearby. Instantly the predator felt challenged. Something else was here, trying to take his prey. It couldn't allow that, not when it did the work to get the prey this far.
Nysaxiope huffed, still annoyed when she swung opened the door to Nys Fish. She swung her tail in rough patterns as she entered her office. But when she sat down with a thump all her anger melted away into worry. She rubbed her temples with her hands. Dammit, why am I so worried about them? Those are the pieces of garbage who are going to drag me down to poverty. She thought. Maybe it was because she had already gotten attached to the first people in a while who hadn't treated her like traitor or a monster. Maybe it was because black market things reeked of her parents. Maybe it was both. Either way, she knew she wouldn't get any sleep until she knew what happened. Yet she still sat.
"You know how much we pay you. You need us." The woman said at the slight threat of her son standing guard.
"Miss, you seem tense. What is it?" The woman's husband asked.
"Oh, never mind that. I'm sure she's fine." The woman waved at her husband's question. "I'm interested in this dragon. You don't need it, do you? If it fits my needs, I'll take it."
Aaron opened his eyes, panicked, as he tried to understand what was happening. He was released but his mouth was covered, and the shark man was out of his sight if he was still here. His arm stung from the attempt to tear away flesh as his own blood tinted the water around him red. Though being a kitsune gave him a bit more time underwater it wasn't much, and he was starting to feel lightheaded as he kicked his legs to push himself towards the surface. He didn't want to be dragged back down into the scarily deep waters. Aaron's injured arm didn't aid his escape and the other still gripped his weapon in case it was needed, so all he had was will power and the strength of his legs to get up to where he could breath. As he got closer to the surface it finally clicked that the shadow around him was Night, and he was silently thankful she was helping.
Night looked around under water. "There has to be some ventilation system!" She thought as she looked around. There wasn't. "I need to get him up." Night thought. She let go of Aaron and went down to the shark. Sharks have to primary weak spots. Eyes and gills. Night formed little claws on her hands and stuck them in the sharks gills.
His fangs clacked on nothingness, only managing to graze Aaron's leg. His body gave a whip-like motion, moving back in for the kill. Under the water, his eyes glowed with a feral glint. His body moved with ease through the water. The male's blue skin seemed to shimmer, skin hardening slightly. The humanoid was making another attempt to get back and drag Aaron back to the depths when a sudden movement caught his eye.
A sharp pain suddenly drove into the side of his neck (where his gills would be located). Well, the sudden intensity did drive him back, disappearing swiftly into the darkness. Though it would only be a matter of time before he would be back for the kill. He did manage to drag the prey further out towards the middle of his pool. So if they were to swim like mad, there would perhaps be a chance of them escaping.
But they had to remember, they were still in his domain. The water the humanoid owned, and with the feral instincts in control of his mind, it was likely he wasn't going to let them get away so easily…
Her keen ears and vigilant nature picked up the disturbances happening in the room further away. A slight frown appeared on her face, hoping everything was alright…
Though her violet eyes locked onto the woman as she stated that the female needed them. She bit back a snide remark, keeping it to herself. The Lady hated the fact that this other's payments did help her slightly when she had first entered this world. As back then she came with nothing but a will to live and the want for revenge…
Despite the other woman snapping at her husband, she did answer him, "It's nothing…I will be fine."
Her violet eyes turned towards Eberaus, who's twitching was becoming more frequent. The feather tufts along his tail were starting to seemingly vibrate again. The Lady watched for several moments, then looked back to the other.
"This isn't the dragon I am looking for…As for your needs, let me guess; still sane, able to withstand water, and so forth," the lady sighed, "Well, even if he is in human form, I can tell by his tail and the movements, that he is a Rock Drake. Rather uncommon back in that world now that I remember…Either way, his breed/species are made for scaling steep terrain, withstand harsh conditions and some pressure, and gliding short distances. Though there are ones that live underground from what I have heard."
Night smiled as the shark let go. She grabbed on to Aaron, hoping he wasn't unconscious. She floated up to the surface. How long had it been? If Aaron felt that he NEEDED to breath than he had about 7 more seconds. That how long it took to get oxygen to pump to all of the body. After that he would fall unconscious. Either way it would be OK. Night had him now and once they got to the top of the surface than they would be good.
As Night brought him to the surface Aaron was seeing spots in his vision, coughing violently as he tried to get as much air as possible. A pained whimper come from him, his injured arm shooting pain through him as he tried moving it. So he instead tried to move along the water soaking and breathing heavily, kicking weakly as fight or flight still drove his actions. "Nykidia?" He called, his voice faltering.
He was confused realizing his words weren't muffled, taking a moment to clear his thoughts before realizing the shadowy being was no longer covering his mouth but instead holding him above the surface. Night? The thought crossed his mind, but his head wouldn't let him dwell on it. He wanted to get to land. He hated this water, water that once again was slowly going red, the fresh marks from the other's serrated teeth slowly making him pass out. Still he was forcing himself to stay awake, not knowing where the shark-like male was. Once they were back by Nykidia maybe he could try healing himself.
Nykidia looked from the edge. She breathed a sigh of relief. She had been mentally counting and it had been almost 2 minutes. Night was holding Aaron above the surface. "Nykidia?" She heard Aaron call. Nykidia was surprised but she couldn't let that get in the way of Aaron's safety. Night pulled Aaron over to the side and Nykidia lifted him out of the water. She pulled out bandages. "Damn. That thing banged you up pretty good." Nykidia said. She knew that she shouldn't wrap the wound with out having it be properly cleaned but he was losing a lot of blood.
Lovino has ran after Nys glaring at Aaron. He arrived and opens the door some hair falling in front of his eyes the grin still cut into his tan face. “Hay Nys-.” He stops “Hay Nysaxiope.”
Aaron looked down as Nykidia helped him. He may have jumped in front of her…. but he didn't expect anyone to help him. Maybe that's why he was shaking a bit, or maybe he was just cold and soaking wet. "Yeah…" He trailed, "He went full shark mode or something once we were in the water. Instead of fighting he was just…. tearing at my arm." He looked at the water as he tried to recover his senses. He was watching, waiting, to see if the shark humanoid would come back. They were still pretty close to the edge, and even if he tried to not show it he was scared. It wasn't even a fight, he was at too much of a disadvantage, that was just defending himself. Though what really frightened him was when he thought no one would come, the same fear from when he was younger that he'd pushed everyone away. "I could probably heal myself once I'm focused." He mumbled. Nykidia and Night didn't need to help him any more than they already had. With his temper and habits he was surprised they even stayed this long. "Where do you think Eberaus is?"
Nykidia lifted Aaron up and started carrying him. "I would guess where ever she is." She said walking. "Thanks for jumping in front of me." Nykidia said. Water and blood was leaving a trail. It didn't matter. She probably knew they were here anyway.
He was taken by surprise as Nykidia started walking while carrying him, Aaron didn't think someone younger than him would have an easy time carrying him. He wasn't used to people helping him, or used to helping others. "No problem, I guess?" He didn't really know what he was supposed to say as he paused, "You know I can walk, right? I'm not that close to passing out. It's my arm that's hurt."
Once again the water had become completely still. Seemed once again whatever strange magic was there had calmed the once seething waters. Yet beneath the surface, he could still smell everything, hear the sound of moving water, sense the world around him.
Though it seemed the wounds from earlier were starting to catch up to him. His one arm was still broken from the other's attack when he had been on land. A few other slashes as well from the claws were starting to bleed even more due to his swift and jerky movements. The adrenaline had been his fuel as well as the shark-instincts, though ever slowly, that adrenaline was starting to wear off, and the shark senses were starting to dull.
Yet he still couldn't let them pass…what would she say if he failed her? He couldn't let he down…she had done so much for him…treated him so well unlike those bastards who created him…she had always been so kind…even in his violent fits of rage she did nothing but hold him close…
The water started to stir. There was movement, swift. The surface broke as his shape sailed in and out of the water. His yellow eyes glinted, still holding their feral ferocity, but there seemed to be something else there. With a single, graceful movement, the male leapt out of the water in a graceful arc. He landed right before Aaron and Nykidia, blocking the way. One of his legs nearly buckled under him, falling to one knee. Yet he continued to glare definitely. His broken arm rested on his knee, baring his serrated fangs which were now red.
"W-why…are you…s-s-so…so damn…set on…g-g-getting through here?!? J-Just…LEAVE!!"
He was panting hard now, just struggling to keep his place and block their path. Water dripped from his body, mixing with his own blue blood that trailed into the pool where it seemed to disappear.
Aaron froze. A spike of fear going through him seeing his blood on the shark's teeth, though he also saw the injuries he inflicted earlier catching up to the humanoid. Arm for an arm, it seems. He thought, noting his own damaged and bleeding arm. He didn't want to leave, they couldn't leave, they already came this far to get Eberaus back. Though he didn't think they'd be able to pick a fight again without one of them ending up dead, and he preferred not getting blood on his hands. Not directly at least, though he had tricked plenty into bad situations.
Aaron was tired from more than his injuries, having used his magic for fighting as well as healing. It annoyed him Nykidia seemed determined to carry him, but he kept back a complaint to deal with the issue at hand. He did his best to sound confident, confident as he could being carried by a younger girl. "I don't think you'll survive any more fights. How about… We skip your embarrassment and you let us pass. We're both injured, so if it makes you feel better why don't you bring us to her?" He was relying on trickery right now, hoping they'd get where they needed to be if he gave the humanoid a way to feel like he'd won. Certainly bringing in two beaten intruders to who ever She was would do that?
"We have a dragon that your 'mother' took. We plan to get it back and with out violence if possible." She said calmly to the shark man thing. She set Aaron down for a sec then to only pick him back up but in a piggy back situation. "Though it seems since you attacked us blood was already been drawn." She said gesturing at Aaron and the shark man.
The woman inspected the rock drake. "You don't need him, so low cost, he'll most likely be okay in the water…" She looked at the body for marks of claiming. Claiming was an ability most races have, simply they must leave a mark recognizable enough by someone who knew what they were looking for. Some use urine, some use inflictions upon the skin, and some use other methods. Sometimes creatures may leave claiming marks subconsciously. If you know someone well enough, you can recognize whose mark it is.
The woman pushed her purple hair that faded to orange out of her face, and crouched using an almost beta-fish like tail with matching colors to her hair. Moving from the body to the face, she lifted up the dragons chin before remembering to ask a question that should've been the first thing she asked.
"What did you put him on? Will he need another dose soon?" The woman asked Her, then turned back to the dragon.
There were marks of a very recent battle on the body, but none were marks of claiming. Turning down his chin, she examined the lips and chin. Nothing. Her eyes dragged up to his nose before stopping abruptly. The woman's eyes bugged out of her head in disbelief as she flipped the dragon's head back and forth, trying to get a better look at the tip of his nose. She was sure. There was a mark. Still recent.
"What is it, honey? Is there a mark?" The husband asked, noting his wife's facial expressions. They were more dramatic than they should be for just a normal mark.
"It's not just any mark." She took a somewhat shaky breath. "Remember that fourth daughter I told you to forget?"
Nysaxiope heard Lovino enter the dining area and call out to her. He almost called you Nys, girl. He pretty much thinks of you as a friend. Such a small gesture that was probably an accident shouldn't really flatter someone, but she wasn't used to it. "In here, Sparky." She called to him from her office in the back of the restaurant. "Door's unlocked."
Lovino walks in and sits down “are you ok?” He asks “I mean that was a big exit you made there -“ he pauses “Nys.” He says still smiling
"I'm fine." He had intentionally called her Nys. Just a bit of blush sprinkled upon her nose from the flattery. "A, um, a, what was a word for something smaller than small?" She snapped her finger as she thought. "Tiny! Sorry, my native language isn't English. A tiny bit pissed. And just- just worried, I guess, for some reason." She place her chin on her interlaced fingers. Her tail dragged slowly across the floor, making a sound almost like a broom sweeping. "I don't know why. Black market stuff-" Nysaxiope shivered. "I didn't tell anyone earlier, but that brings back bad memories."
Lovino smiles a little “you don’t got to talk about to me.” He says “and English is not my first language ether.” He says smiling

The shark-like male seemed to make a sound. A hiss escaped his lips, though his yellow eyes were flickering, dimming down. Even as Aaron stated about them both nearly beating each other, he wasn't convinced. Then he said something about him taking them to his Mistress.
The male's eyes suddenly flared again. His lips twitched, his leg moving beneath him. He stood hunched over, broken arm swinging to the side. He took a shaky step forward, clearly struggling. Yet despite it, he still stood defiantly.
"Your words…m-mean nothing…You just…t-t-think… you can…come in and…a-a-and 'sweet-talk' me? Heh…H-heheheh…HAHAHAHAHA!!"
Once again that maniacal laughter came from him. The humanoid's laughter echoed throughout the massive room. It was unsettling and eerie as he stood there cackling madly.
Then without little to any warning, the male once again lunged forward. He was aiming to kill, fangs opened wide to clamp down on whatever was in his way. He seemed mad, a creature beyond reasoning with anymore. Perhaps it was the rigorous and brutal tests when back in the lab resurfacing in his mind, or he was just that damn determined to keep his promise.
The female sighed, rolling her eyes. She muttered softly under her breath in some unknown language. Words that were indeed probably best kept to herself.
Her violet gaze landed on the other, "Your guess is as good as mine as what he was knocked out with…the one I hired to get him has his own things he uses…though if you really want to know, I can offer you his contact. He is quite good with his craft, whether you want someone dead, or brought to you, I have found his services to be the best."
The woman's form suddenly went completely rigid. She could sense his pain, his desperation. He was in trouble…and she wasn't there to protect him…
Her body started to move, ignoring the pair still in her room inspecting the dragon. Her mind was set on one thing and one thing alone…defend, protect.
Now, for poor Eberaus…
The drug was finally starting to fade. What in the hells? He wasn't the one moving his body, so who was?
His eyes flickered open, seeing blurry shapes in front of him. The draconic male weakly flicked out his forked tongue, testing the air. This entire area was unfamiliar, as well as these creatures before him. At least he was assuming them to be some type of creature, he couldn't be too certain.
He gave a loud, audible snort, jerking his head away. He ran his forked tongue across his parched lips. His tail started to twitch to life again, the feathery tufts vibrating like mad.
"Just where the hell…who the hell…" his voice was an angry growl as he tried to find and control his tongue, his words slurring.
Cherry was walking through the city, a lollipop in her mouth. She paused as sniffed the air, a sadistic smile growing on her face. "I smell blood!~" She said cheerfully, making her way towards the smell of blood.
As the shark lunged forward Nykidia jumped, landed on his back as he lunged, and pushed off of it giving her at least a 15 feet of distance between them and the shark. "Welp. It was worth a shot." Nykidia muttered as she raced off towards the direction of voices.
"Dodadodadooo~" Cherry hummed as she vaulted up a building towards the smell. No one was paying any attention to her so she leaned into a wall and crossed her arms, a smirk on her face. "Y'all sure are fighting~" She said, startling at least one person.
Aaron's eyes went wide as his words backfired, watching the male seemingly lose it before charging. A short shout of surprise came from him as Nykidia jumped, a brief pain washing over him as he moved his arms to make sure he didn't fall. "Careful!" He scolded, looking back at the shark humanoid as Nykidia ran. He was tired but he felt useless not doing any thing. So he willed strings to form and tie down the predator as best he could, Aaron's senses dulling some as he put all his effort into keeping the other from catching them as Nykidia brought them to where Eberaus hopefully was. Though he did notice there was a girl leaning on the hall wall, confusion on his face as she said something when they passed. I don't know where she's from. Though hopefully she follows if she doesn't want to deal with the crazy shark man after us.
Cherry watched this with interest. "So you're the one bleeding~" She cooed, tilting her head. IMMA FOLLOW THEM! She thought and just for funsies she added a. And maybe they'll let me dissect the sharky dude.
