Aniña nodded, giving her hand a small squeeze, “Yes, yes we shall.” She led them into the town, giving a few tight lipped smiles to some people as they passed before the full swing of the markets came into view.

Sequoia felt her playful mood melt away into happiness as the marketplace came into view. It was bustling and loud, and Sequoia felt more at home than she had in months. Shouts in Kaelish, her native language, could be heard every so often as people bustled around several overstuffed stalls.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña took in all the stalls, the buzz of the market place and the items vendors were selling. It was nice and she enjoyed the feel of the activity from here, “See anything you like?”

Sequoia looked over the marketplace, grinning when a table of jewelry immediately caught her eye. There were a few golden rings that she found particularly beautiful, and they could work as wedding rings for Aniña and her since they hadn't had a proposal. "How about that table?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña looked over and gave a small nod, leading Sequoia over to the table. Necklaces were set up on some kind of board, their gems shining in the afternoon sunlight. Rings glittered bellow them, spread out on display for everyone to look at.

Sequoia grinned up at the man standing behind the counter, running her fingers over the necklaces before she eventually settled over the rings. It was important not to show interest right away or the seller would pounce on you with larger than life prices. The rings were engraved with vines, even more beautiful up close. "What do you think of these, Habibi?" she asked casually.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña took a closer look at the rings, admiring them in the light and the patterns. They were nice, she had to admit, "They're nice." But what she personally preferred was a set of rings set off to the side. One was a slim silver ring- meant for a woman- with a silver gem on top, patterns of navy blue in strange markings setting over the thin metal. The ring next to that, was one a larger ring, full navy blue with the same intricate patterns only in silver, "What about those?"

Sequoia looked at them with appraisal in her eyes, taking in the navy and silver and beautiful decoration. Gold looked better on her skin, but silver went better with most of her outfits. And she wanted to make Aniña happy. If her wife wanted these beautiful rings, then that was what they would buy. Along with a chain and one of the rings she liked because there was no way Sequoia was giving it up. "Those look interesting. Can you fit into the bigger one?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Probably,” Aniña picked up the rings and admired them in her palm before looking to Sequoia, “You know we don’t have to get these. If you want the gold ones then we can buy them.” She shrugged a shoulder. She could tell her wife wanted the gold ones, it was obvious.

"While gold is definitely my color, I think these look really nice. Try one on at the very least." Sequoia slipped the smaller ring onto her finger and smiled when it was a perfect fit. It seemed to be a sign from Saint Kalae that these would be the better choice.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña nodded and carefully slipped on the bigger ring. The silver matched her pale skin and while the ring was a little big, it fit pretty well onto her finger. She held it up to the light and admired it with a small smile, “Do you like that one?” Gesturing to the one on her wife’s finger.

Sequoia smiled, noting that it was slightly too big but the silver looked quite nice. She admired both of their hands, twisting the ring on her finger for a few seconds before she decided these were perfect. "Yes. I think we should buy them. How much?" She turned to the man behind the counter.

Sequoia outright laughed. She may have been royalty, but she knew how to haggle. Besides, only fools took people up on their first offers. "You're funny! I won't pay more than five."

@ElderGod-Carrots

The man leaned forwards, “Fifteen. Or you can leave them here,” He flicked his gaze to Aniña and frowned a little.
“Where’s the material from?” She asked, looking from the ring to the man.
“Xreen Mountains.” His lips curled into a smile.
“Fifteen it is.” She reached in her pocket and fished out some coins.

Sequoia pouted at her wife but didn't say anything more to the man. Fifteen was fairly pricey for these rings, they were worth 10 gold and five silvers at the very most, but since Aniña was paying there wasn't much for her to do. Besides admire her pretty new ring. The more she looked at them the better they looked. "Thanks, Habibi. These are really gorgeous, aren't they?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña nodded, giving the man the last of the coins and he disappeared into a small booth behind him, “They are, yeah. If you wanted anything else then I’d be happy to pay for it.” She said, slipping a hand into her pocket.

"Well…' Sequoia said, scanning the table for anything interesting. Besides the rings, there wasn't much that she didn't have at home. It was the style of jewelry royalty wore. She had a billion pairs hidden away in one suitcase or another. "Let's go to another table. Is there anything you want to look for?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña shook her head and turned away from the table, "No there-" She stopped and frowned at a table not too far away. Behind it sat an old woman, what looked like some type of white silk in front of her, "How about over there?"

(Sorry I've been gone. Life really caught up with me and I started majorly stressing. So much that it was really fucking with me. The worst is over now though, so I should be able to post regularly)

"Looks fun!" Sequoia looked the old woman in the eyes, taking in her wrinkle covered face and knowing grin. There was some weird fabric in front of her. Seemed interesting. She pulled Aniña up to the booth with a smile on her face. "Hello, Grandmother! What are you selling today?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

(That's all good, I'm glad you're feeling better now!)

The woman leaned back in he chair, eyeing them both. Aniña had a small frown on her face as she looked at what she was selling while the woman spoke.
"Spider silk." She said simply. Even though she looked around seventy, she spoke with a voice that was far younger then what would be expected for a woman of her age. On closer inspection, her eyes were far younger, too. Aniña's frown deepened.

Deleted user

(Thanks for understanding. :)

Sequoia grinned in delight. There was an illusion ritual she'd been working on that required spider silk, but she hadn't been able to find it anywhere. There was something strange about the woman, but she dismissed it as a personal quirk. If this lady was selling spider silk, she probably used magic and magic users were weird as hell. She should know. "How much would a spool be?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Ten pieces of gold." The woman smiled at Sequoia before reaching to grab the required amount of silk. Aniña kept quiet as she watched the woman, willing herself to relax even though it didn't work all too well.

Aniña seemed awfully tense. Especially because she had been the one who wanted to come over here. "Habibi, can you pass me the money?" While her mouth asked the first question, her eyes asked 'what's wrong?'

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Hm? Oh yeah, sure here," Aniña put on a smile and rummaged through her pockets for the required amount of money and pulled it out, passing it to Sequoia while the woman gave her a look. She ignored it, even though Aniña had questions they could wait. The woman passed over the silk.

Deleted user

"Thank you, Grandmother!" Sequoia grinned, passing over the money and picking up her spider silk. The old woman seemed to be looking at a lightly freaked out Aniña. She shot the old lady a disconcerted glace before asking "Wanna go to another stall, Habibi?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Aniña blinked as she was pulled out of her thoughts, giving her wife a small smile and a nod, "Uh sure, yeah. You pick this time." She took Sequoia's free hand in hers and turned away from the woman,the frown still etched into her face.

Sequoia noticed Aniña's frown and pressed a worried kiss to her cheek. A table full of crystals and strange looking glass bottles caught her eye, so she began pulling her wife over to it. "What's up with you? That old lady seemed to freak you out."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Just…" Aniña looked over her shoulder and found the old lady looking at her. She quickly looked away, "I'll tell you later, it's a long story…" She bit her lip and felt shivers go up her spine just thinking about it.

Sequoia frowned, but bustled over to the new table, taking n the rich assortment of good before her. None of them were very interesting up close. Not that she was paying much attention. Whatever was going on with Aniña was making her nervous. It was really hard to concentrate on pretty trinkets when her wife seemed so freaked out. "Are you sure?"
