"I think…" Lilah breathed, her heart racing as she spoke. "I think I should take a pregnancy test…"
"I think…" Lilah breathed, her heart racing as she spoke. "I think I should take a pregnancy test…"
Cameron looked up and blinked at her.
“Pr-pregnancy?”
“Um… Yeah…” Lilah said softly, smiling up at him.
Cameron blinked as if there was a bright light in his face.
“I-I… um…”
“Babe… Honey, are you okay?” Lilah asked, patting his cheek.
Cameron sighed deeply. “No. No… it’s wonderful.” He smiled.
“I’m still not certain, so I should take a test,” Lilah told him.
Cameron blinked and looked up at her face. “Right. Which means we have to go.”
Lilah sighed. “All right… I suppose you’re right…”
Cameron grinned at her nervously, patting her hand. “I’ll let you get ready.”
“I don’t want to move, though,” Lilah groaned. She stood up anyway and walked over to the dresser to grab some clothes, kissing Cameron on the cheek.
Cameron smiled a bit that seemed assured. Lilah and the possible baby would be fine. Especially if it wasn’t a tumor.
After Lilah was done getting ready, she walked over to Cameron and took his hand. “Let’s go before I decide that I don’t care about going to the doctor and refuse to leave the apartment.”
Cameron smiled a bit. He felt nervous and giddy at the same time, which is stomach didn’t like, much.
“We’re going, we’re going. Thankfully it’s only a couple minute’s walk.”
“We should ready invest in a car,” Lilah sighed, leaning into Cameron as they walked. “Otherwise I’m not going to be able to go anywhere in a few months.”
Cameron poked her cheek gently. “We have our Jeep, remember?”
“Oh… Right… Wow, I’m really smart sometimes,” Lilah chuckled. “Why do we always walk everywhere, then? Well… I guess that’s probably because everything we need is in walking distance, huh?”
Cameron nodded. “Yep! It saves gas money that we’ll need for food.” He laughed softly. “I’m just a cheapskate, aren’t I?”
“Maybe a little,” Lilah chuckled. “But that can be a good thing.”
Cameron chuckled with her and walked her into the elevator once it arrived. “It is. I don’t act much like a prince, do I?”
“Not really, no. But that’s okay. I love you because of it,” Lilah said softly, leaning over to kiss his cheek.
Cameron smiled like a dork and kissed her nose gently. “I’m glad. If not, you probably would’ve gotten tired of me.”
Lilah chuckled and wrapped her arms around him. “Well, then, it’s a good thing I didn’t, huh?”
Cameron giggled softly, like a little child, and kissed her again. “Yep. It’s a womderful thing.”
“Mmhm…” Lilah hummed in agreement. She leaned into him until the elevator reached their floor with a ding, and she sighed as she let go.
Cameron gave her a quick squeeze and started to walk out of the elevator. He led the way to the front doors, and waited for her outside.
Lilah caught up to him, taking his hand in hers when she did. “All right… To the doctors we go…”
Cameron squeezed her hand and kissed her cheek. “You’re being very brave, you know.” He smiled into her skin and pulled away.
Lilah blushed a little, smiling as she leaned into him. “Thank you, babe… You are, too. I just kinda sprung this on you…”
Cameron laughed nervously, kissing her cheek again. “You sure did. But… thank you.”
