"I know that very well, but you also should know who's in charge and when to keep things to yourself." Zander snapped. "And the prisoner is mine, so neither of you should be talking to her, keep that in mind." He walked after Valkyrie. "I do have a job for you if you want it?"
"What's the job?" Valkyrie asked, stopping and turning to see Zander again. "I might be up to it."
"Theres a house, far to the west that has some very valuable books that could help out the dragon riders if they find them. I need you to fly out there and burn them all." He pulled a map out from his pocket and handed it to her. "This should be the place." He smiled and patted her on the head. As he walked away he said his thanks and went back to his office to finish some work.
"Yeah I should train a lot, especially if we have to move soon." Oliver decided that learning while they are in one place will be easier than moving around and trying to learn. "I'll start tomorrow though, my body hurts a little."
Valkyrie thanked Zander and unfolded the paper to see where she'd be going.
"Zander, I'm not positive exactly where that group of riders who escaped my village went, but I do know this place you're sending me is in the opposite direction from which they went," Valkyrie said, "Is it worth doing anything about the rest of them? I do know that before we left, Mara here grabbed some books from our library. I think they may be with the rest of the party… and they obviously have a desire to protect books, so they could potentially cause trouble at some point. I can burn these easily, but I figured I should at least give you that bit of information before I go."
"I know that very well, but you also should know who's in charge and when to keep things to yourself." Zander snapped. "And the prisoner is mine, so neither of you should be talking to her, keep that in mind." He walked after Valkyrie. "I do have a job for you if you want it?"
"Ask the prisoner yourself, all I did was ask her some questions about her relationships with her friends. She spat in my direction then I walked away quietly." He growled "this is the exact reason I hate working with people, they never understand what happened and just judge based on what they've seen." He muttered. Cerulean walked over to his dragon and leaned against her, closing his eyes but keeping his ears wide open
"Mara, is, well and usual girl, with lots of passion for learning. If she's read some of those books then that's all the more reason to keep her here." As for the others if they have any books that could help them win this war, then he needs to find them fast and take care of it. "Thank you for the information Valkyrie."
"Aurelius would," she said, "He's been at the village longer than anyone else, probably knows the most about dragons. In fact, there's a good chance he's read and memorized things from the books too. If you do plan to capture- nevermind… I'll be on my way."
Valkyrie drew closer to Valhalla and started to climb on his back.
"Yeah I should train a lot, especially if we have to move soon." Oliver decided that learning while they are in one place will be easier than moving around and trying to learn. "I'll start tomorrow though, my body hurts a little."
"Well, do you need anything for the pain? I can help you get that knocked out if you'd like," Pollux offered, "And of course, if there's anything else you need, I won't hesitate to help care for you or any of the others."
(I just realized Valkyrie is 19 years old, and she never learned how to read…)
(I had an idea for Valkyrie and Cerulean. Maybe in the future, their rivalry veers off course and they become friends? )
(Yeah, that could be nice. Valkyrie generally has a hard time opening up to anyone though, and she's kinda mean sometimes.)
(Shes reminds me of who I Aspire to be)
(Yeah, like despite being an antagonist, she has some really good qualities. I've tried to be careful and keep her likable because of the nature of the story. I've been writing a lot more, and I've made some new characters. I'm super excited.)
(I dont necessarily see her as a villain, I see her a scared girl without a family who is looking for a way to survive even though the odds are stacked agai st her)
(Sort of? She has a family, but she's the one carrying. Basically this is her backstory: Valkyrie grew up in a really poor family and farmed for a rich landowner in her village. She deeply cares for her family and will do anything to care for them or protect them. Aurelius came into town to free a captured dragon, but because his job didn't go as planned, this wild dragon escapes but also kills a bunch of people in the process, including Valkyrie's younger brother. She learns she can talk to dragons and Aurelius invites her to come live at the village. She agrees because there she can make money to support her family, and perhaps pull them out of poverty one day. However, she has a really hard time getting over her brother's death and is kind of still wary of dragons, and ends up with a very manipulative dragon as her partner, talks to the wrong people, and she just ends up wanting all dragons dead so it becomes sort of a revenge story, but not exactly because Val has a lot of remorse and reservations. There actually ended up being a lot of depth between characters and themes, and I'm just really pleased with how things are turning out. I'm about 7500 words in now.)
(I'm also sitting here screaming because my computer just shut down suddenly and lost me about 300 words.)
(Lmao I shouldn't laugh but )
(Lol I think I fixed it though. At least close enough…)
(Idk if anyone still wants to continue with this, but if so, do y'all think it's better if I write up a little plot ahead of time so we know where we're going?)
(That might be a good idea. I’ve been ghosting for a while since I don’t know how to contribute)
(tbh, I made this RP, and I don't know how to contribute. But it's one of the 2 active RPs I'm in, and I don't know if I really want to join new ones, so I'm trying to keep this alive if I can.)
(I wanna keep this alive too, but it’s hard because I don’t know what to do :/ so yeah, maybe thinking through a plot would be good)
(Okay, so a quick rundown of things that are going to happen (of course we can have other little events in between, this is just the big picture):
Right now they're waiting in that cave with a bunch of other refugees. Many of these refugees are too young or too old to fight, so it's mostly up to our characters to set things right. They need to:
- figure out who's behind this and what they stand for (that would be some guy whose name I have not come up with; he plays more of a villain role, but his intent isn't inherently evil, just his methods. What he, and his whole side stands for is kind of a mix. Most people there want destruction of dragonkind. Some are bitter towards the dragon riders. Some just like chaos and killing. Of course, there are other reasons too. The dragons there are for a hands-off relationship between humans and dragons and wish to destroy their riders. They also hard-core believe that only the fittest dragons should survive. There are few bonds between human and dragon here, mostly alliances.)
- Take them all down. It's up to you whether your character wants to kill everyone from the organization or not. The goal is not necessarily to kill, only to stop however they can. This will come later…
We're probably going to start with our characters trying to spy on the organization. It seems to be a logical route in this process. Perhaps we have them camp near some enemy bases and check out nearby towns to understand their impact and motives, and to find out who might be leading them and if they could possibly strike an agreement without further violence. From there, they'll probably be best off building up a secret army over time (because let's be honest, a few kids can't take down a whole army by themselves). This army is left to blossom from the refugee camp they're currently at, as survivors and people who were sent out to help from across the continent continue to trickle in and take the time to train and become strong again.
Then we can worry about further action and battle plans later, and can also decide whether we want a full-out-war with a final battle, or just a final battle, depending on pacing and how everyone else feels about it.)
(And of course, I'm open to any other suggestions or corrections)
(I like it. Mara can somehow turn out to be a spy for them if you want.)
(That's fine with me. Whatever you want to do. I think I'm also going to have Aurelius get captured so we can have a little more action over there.)
(Sounds like a good plan)
