Zen looked between all of them. "What on not earth is going on?" he questioned.
Zen looked between all of them. "What on not earth is going on?" he questioned.
"Well, Jay started glitching so I put him in a water bubble."
“Why are you referring to him like a machine? A human doesn’t… glitch. Oh wait, I don’t think we are human.”
There was a loud static sound, and the water bubble dissolved. Jay fell to the ground. No lights or any other sign that he was conscious seemed to show
"This is so weird," Zen muttered. He sank into the shadows.
"Jay!" Jasmine yells, and runs over to him. "Wake up! Wake up!" She yells, shaking him.
Addison took a few steps out of the cave again. Jay, you good yet?
Slowly, the lights on Jay's body started to come back on. There was a noise that sounded oddly like a dial-up computer, and he jolted upright coughing
"Wow," Jasmine says, leaning back. "What happened?
Addison rushed over to Jay and slid down on her knees, grabbing Jay's shoulder, supporting him.
Her face was etched with worry.
He sat there coughing for a few long moments. "C-Cyprus. Cyprus is what happened." He tried to get to his feet but stumbled and fell back again
"Cyprus? Who's that?"
Addison caught Jay. "Just lay down for a sec." She soothed.
"Cyprus? What's that?" Zen asked from the side.
"He's the ghost who's been living in my head since I was 12. I-" He broke off into another fit of coughing. "I don't know how he did that. I think the planet's giving him extra power too."
"Everything keeps getting weirder and weirder," Zen said, leaving the shadows and walking over to the others.
"We NEED to know what that writing says."
Addison sighed. "Everybody quiet down for a second!" She told the others. "Jay are you going to be okay? Or should I fly you back to the ship??"
Jay groaned. "I'm good. Just gonna lay here for a few."
Addison nodded. she leaned back on her heels and finally let the breath she was holding out. "You scared me!" She exclaimed softly.
Jay chuckled. "I appreciate the sentiment, really, but you really shouldn't bother." He looked off to the side, smile gone. "No one has in a long time."
Tears sprang to Addison's eyes. "Well get used to it." She said softly, but with a firm and fierce and almost protective undertone.
Jay turned to her, bolting up. "Wait, no no no no no don't cry! I just, I…"
Addison gave him a small smile. "Relax Jay. I'm just a really big softy."
Jay couldn't stop himself from smiling as well. "I wish I had more people like you around when I went missing."
(This is so great! I gotta sign off for tonight, see [or I guess read] y'all tomorrow!]
“… wait you went missing?”
(see ya!)
Addison put her hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry that you had to go through what you did." She said. Then she transmitted, I'm sorry. I'm still learning how to comfort people.
