"What do you mean?" Kelton asked gently, pulling away slightly to look at Chase's tear-stained face. He gently wiped away his tears with his thumb before hugging him again, it broke his heart to see Chase crying for some reason.
"What do you mean?" Kelton asked gently, pulling away slightly to look at Chase's tear-stained face. He gently wiped away his tears with his thumb before hugging him again, it broke his heart to see Chase crying for some reason.
The sobs and sniffles slowed at the comforting touch this time, and he whispered, “W-Why do I have to be gay? Why do I have to have synesthesia? Why am I a freak?” The tears threatened to come back again in an avalanche, so Chase clamped his eyes shut and tucked himself into Kelton’s shoulder again.
"Being gay and having synesthesia doesn't make you a freak." Kelton reassured him. He glanced at Chase with his head buried in his shoulder and hugging him a bit tighter, he was already thinking of ways to kill Kemp and Jacob for hurting Chase.
“Y-Yes, it does,” Chase mumbled in protest, the mind frame that had been hammered into his head from Kemp, Jacob, and his own father. He sniffled a little bit more, trying to get his feeling bottled up.
"No it doesn't, even if it did, who cares. It just makes you more unique." Kelton muttered back. He hated seeing Chase like this, he wanted him to be happy and not caring about Kemp or Jacob or his father.
He’s lying. That was Chase’s immediate thought, but this time he stayed quiet. His tears slowly -too darn slowly- stopped coming, and he was left with the occasional sniffle as he forced himself to pull away. His eyes were puffy and red from crying, but his head had an ugly red tint to it as it was starting to swell from being slammed against the locker.
Kelton slowly pulled away and glanced at Chase's face. "What happened to your face?" He asked gently. He really didn't understand how people like Kemp and Jacob are alive because of how mean they were, did someone even try to stop them at all?
“They slammed it into my locker.” A few times… “That’s why I was in here in the first place,” Chase mumbled softly, staring at the tile floor instead of meeting Kelton’s eyes.
These mother f-ckers, I swear to f-cking god I am going to kill these people in the most brutal way ever. Kelton sighed and gently caressed his face. "I…" He seemed at a loss of words then looked at the tile floor. "Do you know where they are? Kemp and Jacob?"
“I don’t know, probably in their next class,” He said quietly, selfishly leaning his head into Kelton’s hand. “I should probably go to my next class too…” That didn’t change the fact of how much Chase wanted to stay curled up in the bathroom and hide from everyone. Everyone other than Kelton.
(Hai)
(hai, I'm typing a response rn, srryyyy) Forgive me pls, I has no life
(Don’t worry about it, just wanted to make sure this didn’t get lost or anything lol)
(Ik, I won't let this die)
Kelton didn't pay that much to what Chase was doing as he looked around, wondering if he should get Chase to his class then deal with Kemp and Jacob or the opposite. "You know that you don't have to, right?"
“But…” The protest died on Chase’s lips. He knew his father could care less about Chase, and he doubted there would be any real repercussions, but… “I’ll get in trouble, that’d be skipping…” Then again, he didn’t want to go to class at all, becuase then the teacher would ask, and then he’d try to make an excuse, and some of the jocks who were friends with Kemp and Jacob would snigger and tease him.
"I won't force you to do anything, you can do what you want to." Kelton said, quickly putting his hands up to show he wasn't going to do anything. He decided that he would take care of Chase first then take care of Kemp and Jacob.
“But I wanna leave still,” Chase whispered, his mouth quirking upwards a tiny bit in amusement. He didn’t even realized he was smiling- such a genuine expression. Something he hadn’t worn in a while. “What should I do?” Chase wanted to leave, wanted to go spend the day with Kelton, but he knew it would be terribly irresponsible.
Kelton smiled slightly when he saw Chase smile, he was glad he could make Chase smile. "You should do whatever you wanted to do," He answered, standing up and offering Chase a hand. it was very rare to see Kelton smile, even his friends rarely saw him smile.
Chase took Kelton’s hand, a daring feeling entering his chest. “Then I want to leave, I want to go do something.” He smiled even more, leaning towards Kelton without meaning to. It was like a chance at living. Really living, not just existing- but living.
Kelton chuckled. "Well, what do you want to do then?" He asked. He noticed that Chase had leaned towards him but didn't complain at all, he was comfortable with Chase close to him for some reason. Maybe it's because I hugged him…
“I don’t know, I hoped you had a plan,” Chase said with a laugh, pink dusting his cheeks for some reason. “I haven’t ever done anything like this before…” He explained, slightly embarrassed by himself so he looked away.
(don’t die………)
(Srryyyyy, life hates me)
"But I don't know your hobbies or interests or anything like that." Kelton replied. He had been the good kid and still is, the only difference is that he has more friends now.
“I don’t really have many -er- hobbies, or anything like that…” Chase mumbled, chewing his lip. He felt scatter brained, trying to think of anything to do… “What about… I dunno… maybe the movies?” If there is even a movie on right now? Stupid, stupid, stupid…
"Oh-um-sure." Kelton muttered, glancing around the restroom. "So, just curious and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but-um-how much do you hate Kemp and Jacob?" He asked as he took out his phone to look around for movies they could maybe watch.
“I…” Chase was tacked aback by the by the question for a few seconds, “Well… I guess hate is a strong word.” He didn’t want to outright say he hated anyone, much less Kemp and Jacob. It would feel like breaking some unwritten law- saying that he hated someone who was so popular and so much… better, than Chase. (Does what I wrote make any sense? I’m just trying to show how Kemp and Jacob treat Chase lesser than them and he kinda believes it now after being treated like that for so long)
