Aniña smiled down at Sequoia's sleeping form, pressing a kiss to her forehead. She placed the book on the bedside table gently and settled down next to her wife, wrapping her in her arms before she fell asleep.

(Sure)
(Sorry I've been gone, got roped into helping decorate for Christmas- which is ridiculous because hello it's not even December- but I should be on for a while now.)
Sequoia woke up without having ay nightmares for the first time in a week. It was liberating. She rolled over to press a kiss onto her wife's cheek and then hopped up to accept the bandages and herbs that had been left outside their door by a servant. They were running short on painkillers, so she ground some up, humming one of her favorite songs. Today felt like a good day.
(Ooft, alrighty)
Aniña groaned a little and rolled onto her side, pulling the covers over her face and curling up inside of them. She was in pain, she was tried and she just wanted to cuddle with her wife who wasn't in the bed.
Sequoia clucked her tongue in pity, passing Aniña some painkillers and curling back under the covers. "Eat these, please."
Aniña did as told and ate the painkillers before snuggling into Sequoia's side, "Morning…"
When Aniña gulped down the painkillers without complaint, it was pretty much fixed in Sequoia's mind that today was going to be good. She wrapped an arm around her wife's side but found she had too much energy to really relax. "Good morning, Habibi. What do you wanna do today? Re-explore those freaky tunnels? Go shopping in that town like half a mile from here? I kind of want to dance, do you wanna dance?" She knew she was talking too much, but she didn't bother to hold herself back.
Aniña slowly, lifted her head so she could look up at her wife with a slight frown, "One, how do you have so much energy? Two, why are you so talkative this morning?" She asked before burying her face in her wife's side again.
Sequoia shrugged happily. "It just happens sometimes. I mean, I usually have a lot of energy, but I also usually put some spells on myself to keep it from getting overpowering. I need it every week, guess I forgot to cast 'em. And I just wanna talk. Talk talk talk, isn't that a funny word?" In truth, Sequoia got annoyingly peppy and manic when she forgot to cast her spells. She went from a decently chill person to an annoying chatterbox prone to making bad decisions.
Aniña groaned and reached up and put her hand over Sequoia's mouth to shut her up. After a few minutes of very nice silence, she removed it, "Whatever spell you do to stop you from talking too much, do it now and do it quickly… please." She rolled over so her wife could get up. Honestly she might have been fine with her wife's talkative state if she wasn't injured. But that wasn't the case so she wanted Sequoia to be quiet, even if it was for a little while.
Sequoia frowned, hopping out of bed with less pep than earlier in the morning. Sure, she could be kind of annoying- and sure people had forced her to be quiet before- but she hadn't expected it from Aniña. Still, it was expected. She was a mess when she couldn't shut up, everyone hated it. Why should her wife be any different? "It's like eight spells because I gotta put a bunch of limiters on my head and then I gotta put on- I'll shut up. Nevermind." The spellbooks were in her room, so she rushed out to get them, leaving Aniña alone.
Aniña sighed and stayed quiet for a few minutes before slowly standing from the bed and heading to Sequoia's room, "Sequoia? I'm sorry, you don't have to put the spells on," She bit her lip and wrapped her arms round herself, "I'm just… grumpy and tried and sore and I'm sorry for being mad at you… sorry…"
Sequoia was crying quietly and she didn't really know why- she just knew that it hurt to be rejected by Aniña. It shouldn't have bothered her as much as it did. It shouldn't have bothered her at all. But it still did, and she couldn't change that. The spellbook lay open on her bed and she began casting the first one.
Three spells in, Aniña came in with apologies in her voice and hesitance in her eyes, Sequoia just felt even worse. Sure, chatterbox was a part of her, but it wasn't all of her. It wasn't the most important part of her. In fact, she found that the more she talked the less she got to say what she really meant. "It's okay, Habibi. I really do need to cast these spells. And you have no reason to apologize, I can be a real pain when I'm talking too much."
“No. I do need to say sorry because I… I didn’t mean to make you upset or… or force you into anything…” Aniña sighed through her nose and walked over to sit next to Sequoia on her bed, kissing away her tears gently.
Sequoia took a deep breath, trying to hold back even more tears because now she was being treated well by someone who had every right to be sitting in bed annoyed with her. Aniña really was better than Sequoia, even if she'd promised not to compare herself to her wife. "It's not your fault. If I don't cast the spells, I get really emotional and you did have every right to be annoyed. And you're not forcing me, I promise."
Aniña wiped away another one of her wife's tears before placing a soft, gentle kiss to her lips, "Okay then…" She took a breath before speaking quickly, "And I shouldn't have been annoyed with you, I'm sorry that's the final word, okay? Love you." She didn't even realise she had said 'love you' until she had placed a kiss to her wife's cheek and had quickly left the room before Sequoia could argue back.
Sequoia blinked a few times, taking in the gentle kiss and the brief 'love you'. That was… a bit more than she'd bee expecting, but she also knew that it was bound to slip out of one of them eventually. They were enamored with one another, and wasn't that what people did? Tell each other 'I love you'? The only problem was the truth of the statement. Could Sequoia be truthful when love was involved?
Those thoughts echoed through her mind as she cast the remaining spells. When she was done, she didn't feel like crying anymore, but that didn't mean a few stray tears weren't still sliding down her cheeks. They were wiped away before she made her way back to Aniña's bed. She kissed her wife on the cheek with a muttered "Love you too' before she slid back under the covers.
Aniña couldn't help the butterflies in her stomach and the grin on her face. She rolled over so she was face Sequoia, "Feeling better? Or do I have to kiss away more tears?"
(I'm pretty tired, so I'm heading to bed. Have a good night.)
"Well, I'll never say no to kisses." The hesitant smile that had been spread across Sequoia's face bloomed into a full grin when Aniña smiled at her. Things were okay. They loved each other. Aniña wasn't annoyed or mad or anything but happy to see her.
(Thanks, goodnight)
Aniña giggled a little and leaned in and pressed her lips softly against Sequoia's, a kiss as gentle as a summers breeze. It felt nice. Nice that they were happy. Nice that they had admitted that they loved each other.
Sequoia sighed dreamily, melting into Aniña's kiss. She broke away after a few minutes to make sure they were both on the same page. "Just to make sure we're on the same page, we both said I love you? And meant it? And it didn't just randomly slip without meaning anything?"
Aniña smiled and placed her hand on Sequoia's cheek, "Yeah. We both said it and meant it," She bit her lip, "Y-You did mean it, like… I did, right?" She suddenly felt really nervous that shouldn't have said it and Sequoia didn't feel the same way.
Sequoia nodded vigorously. "Yes! Definitely! 110% true!" While Sequoia didn't always mean the things she said, she meant this. Love was something too precious to joke around with and she wouldn't dare hurt Aniña with a false confession. "So we're officially in love."
Aniña rubbed her thumb over Sequoia's cheek gently, "Yeah, guess we are," She let her eyes scan over her wife's body, coming back up to admire her gorgeous face with a smile, "Gods you're beautiful…"
Sequoia blushed hot, letting herself lean into the hand on her face. Her gaze was heavy as she gave Aniña a similar once-over, eyes settling on her wife's grin. "Like you're any different, Habibi."
Aniña let out a small laugh and pressed her forehead against Sequoia’s, “I’d argue but know you’d get made at me.”
Sequoia pressed a kiss to her wife's face, whispering "You can't argue with me because that's the truth. There's more than one kind of beauty, and you definitely fall into at least one of them. Probably more." It was a shame that Aniña couldn't tell how beautiful she was. How pretty and sweet and genuinely good she seemed.
Aniña opened her mouth to argue, really wanting to tell Sequoia how she was wrong about that but decided against it and closed her mouth with a slight frown, "If you say so…" She muttered, burying her face in the crook of her wife's neck.
Sequoia frowned lightly as well, stoking the crown of Aniña's hair as her wife began to cuddle. Aniña really was lovely, from her bright eyes to her tones skin. There wasn't a part of her that Sequoia wouldn't be happy to worship. "I do. I love the way you look, and I'll do that enough for the two of us."
