"I left," Quinn replied, looking over her. "My dad. . . he made me leave. What did she do to you?"

Willow sighed and Nutmeg reluctantly curled up next to the deer, taking his nap. The sun hit Willow's face full on and after a minute of sweating through the crazy mess of her hair, she tied it up with the bandanna again. Flowers fell onto the floor and Willow picked them up, throwing the flowers into a bowl already full of them.

Santiago finished up and closed up for a break. He went outside for a bit of fresh air and leaned against the outside store wall.

Scarlet looked away. “I’ll explain later. Introduce me to your friend.”

"This is Matt, son of the Mad Hatter." Quinn motioned to him, as he took another sip from his flask. "He loves to drink, if you haven't noticed yet."

The sun was hot and Willow's tea was hot and everything was hot so she retreated into the cottage and went into her cool, cold room to lay down on the bed.

"Come sit," Quinn waved her over as she sat in front of Matt. She motioned to the mismatched tea cups, trays, and cakes on the table. "Help yourself. We have plenty."

Cade walked through the small town square, reading off the list his mother had given him. Since his father worked and his mother was pregnant yet again, he was the one that had to run errands. His siblings were way too young and they mostly stayed at home while their mom taught them. Cade walked up to a small produce stand and bought a few fruits and vegetables, placing them gently in the new leather bag.

Scarlet took nothing from the table, fists clenched in her lap. She hoped Mae had gotten away. “I trust you’re agaainst the Queen?”, she asked the Mad Hatter’s son.

(Hey goodmorning! I was thinking that maybe Harper was part of one of the royal families, but when the queen killed their parents, Harper and Aubrey changed their last names and went into hiding. Is dat okay??)

Of course! It would certainly make things interesting :D

(does anyone have any ideas for what I can do with Cade? He's kind of just stuck getting groceries until I figure something out)

Maybe he could go to Matt’s teaoarty and merry gheothet?

Cade walked around the square, buying all the things his mother had on the list she had given him. Not quite wanting to return to his noisy home, he slung the bag's strap over his shoulder and walked around the woods. He heard voices up ahead and stopped suddenly, hiding behind a large tree. Cade was close enough that he could hear the conversation, but he didn't dare turn to see who was talking.

Harper ran into the woods. "All I wanted was some food! Not to have a bunch of the queen's guards trying to kill me!" She grabbed a tree branch and swung herself up in the tree and the guards ran right past her. Whew. That was a close one. Then she heard talking. She silently swung herself to another tree, then spotted Scarlet with a few other teens.

In the distance, Cade spotted a younger girl with green hair in the trees. He watched her as he listened in, not sure if he could trust her. Cade placed his hand on his knife, ready to fight if he needed to.

Harper saw another teen looking at her. She pulled up her hood, suddenly subconscious about her naturally green-blue hair, and suspicious of him. He could be working for the queen. Be careful. She told herself.

Cade made eye contact with the green haired girl. He nodded at her, hoping that she would realize that he wasn't there to hurt her. It was best to make allies while you could.

Harper saw the other teen give her a small nod. She gave him a small smile and nodded back. Then she looked down at Scarlet. I haven't seen Scarlet in so long. Would she even remember me? She thought.

Cade decided to do what the green haired girl had done and climb up the tree. He tried to be as quiet as he could as he made his way up to a branch so he could look over the people who were talking. Once he peeked through the branches he saw three people: Matt the son of the Mad Hatter, that girl from the shop, and….Scarlet. Cade growled, his hand gripping the knife. That son of a b** little princess…once I get my hands on her…
