I actually like Snape because I identify, on a certain level, with the devotion he had to Lily Potter, even though it wasn’t the healthiest, and he didn’t get over a woman who got married and had a child. Basically, it’s like he represents difficult decisions that we face, through unrequited loves, or sacrifice, or friendships, what have you. It’s not so much he’s a bad person as much as he is a person. That’s why he’s important. He is probably the most plainly human, and real, character that J. K. wrote. He doesn’t face the impossible problems that Harry does, he isn’t connected to that in the same way the 3 are, which makes his motivations more relatable. He loves a woman who married his least favorite person in the world, had a child with him, and then was murdered by Voldemort, whom he was supposed to be devoted to. That challenged his loyalties on a whole other level; should he be loyal to Lily, whom he never ceases to love unconditionally, or Voldemort, who just killed her? Lily, right? But she’s dead.
Like, Lily and Snape’s relationship went father back than Lily and James’s did. It makes sense that he would remain devoted to her even after all those years. To always love her.
Is it even specified that he meant that he loved her romantically? Or did we, as readers, insert that connotation? Perhaps Snape meant that she will always have a very dear place in his heart because of the experiences they shared.
I dunno, I feel like he was just a mean dood all around, but tried to justify his actions by being in love with a person, after he literally joined a society that hated them. and he was mean to neville for no reason

Mmmmmm, no. Snape was mean to Neville because he felt that if Voldemort had gone after his parents instead, then Lily would still be alive. Is it right? No. But there was a reason. He joined the Death Eaters as an outlet for emotions because he didn’t already have an outlet, or purpose.

I love Slytherpuff's because they are the two most different houses but when you are a Slytherpuff you are both houses quailities which is great. The cunningnes of the Syltherins but the loyalty of the Hufflepuff's make a great combination.
