Phoebus was baffled. “You mean— people from your country disapprove of it more than they do here?” Granted, many of the Gods were said to take partners of their own gender, and it was an acknowledged part of society, but grown men and women were sometimes frowned upon for taking up a companion that would not help them continue the family line, and many such affairs were kept to the side. This was minor discrimination, he knew, but he’d never imagined that their were places where homosexuality was thought of taboo. Was it so bad to love another?

(shit i fucked up and used an indian name for an egyptian character kill me now whoops)
"It is not necessarily… accepted," Aditi admitted. "People will acknowledge that it exists, and that some feel that way towards others, but for the most part, it is unusual to have feelings for someone of the same gender. Most people prefer to ignore it."
(so homosexuality is a controversial subject in egyptology… no one knows how the fuck people felt about it)

(Lmao it’s fine, no one has to know)
(Oof)

Phoebus furrowed his brow. “Oh. I did not— I didn’t know.” He chewed on his lip, inmersed in thought before. The noonday sun beat down on his back, and his stomach growled, jerking him out of his reverie.

Aditi looked up, startled. "Oh, no, no, no, I have to be at the palace shortly after noon, I'm sorry, I have to go! Do you know any way I can make it back quickly?"

Phoebus thought for a moment. “Down that side street, take a right, then a left, then cross the Main Street at the thermopolia, not the intersection.”

"Dishes are fun, but I think I have another idea," Cyprus answered, frowning slightly as he tried to think of something that would be interesting. After a few moments, he looked back towards Adonis, a small grin lighting up his features. "Have you ever ridden a horse?" Cyprus asked, knowing that he had a friend on the outskirts of town that owned a few horses that they would be willing to lend him. Perhaps it would be fun for him and Adonis to ride?

"No, but I like seeing them run and would love to try." He answered with another slight shrug. He liked seeing the horses run and how calm they were most of the time. He never got the chance to ride one because either people thought he was mad when they met him or he didn't have the money. "I would like to ride one though."

(Since Cyprus and Adonis are going towards the outskirts of the city, if any characters want to bump into them, then they could possibly meet.)

"Perfect. Do you want to come by the apothecary around noon?" Cyprus asked, trying to find a time that would work for the both of them. He would most likely have to run a few errands and work before, but after that he would be allowed to roam outside the shop. "It's a little further from the city square. Right over there." Cyprus added, motioning to a street littered with even more merchant stands.

Adonis looked over to where Cyprus pointed and internally groaned. More loud noises. He foorced a grin on to his face and nodded, not wanting to miss the opportunity to ride horses. A little public interaction couldn't hurt, right? "Ok then."

"I'll see you later then?" Cyprus said, looking towards Adonis as he waited to see what the other would say. Though, he also started to wonder if the other honestly wanted to hang out with him. Maybe Adonis was just hanging out with Cyprus because he felt bad for their lack of friends…Even though he pushed the unwanted thoughts away, he couldn't help pulling at the satchel at his side.

"Yea." he said, standing up now that the play was over. Once he made a move to go downstairs he looked back up to Cyprus. "Thank you for letting me hang out with you. I never do this much and you didn't act fake around me." He said, with an actual smile this time.

"Thanks!" Aditi said, running away with her basket.
