I actually came out that way… I made a joke and then realized, oh shit, I forgot they think I'm straight. My friends all accepted it though, so.

Lol this one time after I cut my hair it's become all poofy, and I was whipping it around and I said "my hair is straight outta a cartoon right now" and My mother (who thinks I'm a righteous straight cis child) said "your hair is never straight" and it was seriously such a struggle to hold a joke in because there's no way I'm coming out to her for a very long time. lol
