Ember hopped in. "Thank you!" She chirped, buckling herself up. She started digging through her tote bag. She facepalmed. "I forgot my wallet!" she groaned.

Axel plopped down into the driver’s seat. “Hey, good thing I have mine!” He beamed and held up his wallet.

Ember looked a little uncomftorable. "Still. You already made me lunch before. I don't want to keep just eating off your money. Can we maybe stop by my apartment first?" She bit her lip, wondering if Serenity was still there.

Axel looked at her and took her hand. “I don’t care. I promise. I’ll buy all the food we eat, all of the things you want and more.”

Ember shifted a little in er seat, cheeks heating up. "Y-you really d-don't need to do that…" 'He's way too nice to me. He should save his money. I don't like being a burden to such a nice guy….'

Axel set a hand on her hand. “It’s my pleasure, I promise.” His nose twitched as a pumpkin-y scent touched his nose. It wasn’t too rough, nor too weak.
“Nice perfume you’re wearing.” He started up the car.

She squeaked, her face turning red as an apple, as he touched her hand and commented on her smell. "S-s-sorry… my friend sprayed it on me as I was running out, a-and I didn't have time to take a shower to get it off…" She didn't know why she was apologizing, she just felt so embarrassed.

Axel beamed and nudged her. “Hey, calm down. I like it. It’s not too strong nor weak. It’s perfect. It smells great.” He turned a corner, humming.

Ember blushed even more deeply and looked away, trying to hide the smile tugging on her lips. 'He's so nice! I really like him. He's been so nice to me…' She looked out the windows, letting her mind drift into daydreams.

Axel gave her hand a gentle squeeze and bumped her shoulder. “Play whatever you want, Ember. Just don’t turn it up too high.”

Ember jumped a little bit, snapping out of her thoughts. "O-ok. Thanks!" She reached over with her unoccupied hand and started searching through stations, keeping the sound low. She came to a stop on a station playing the beginning of Melanie Martinez's "Toxic". She sang along.

She ended on the first chorus and just listened to the rest, enjoying Axel's hand in hers.

Axel smiled and hummed along as she sang. She had a wonderful singing voice. It was quite inspiring to listen to. By the end of the song, he was singing along and ended off strong.

She heard him start to sing and was surprised. She grinned nevertheless, and started swaying in her seat, eyes closed as they sang in harmony.

Axel dropped off as soon as the song ended, smiling. “That was great. You have a wonderful voice.”

Ember's eyes opened. She blushed. "T-thank you. You sound amazing too." She smiled happily. 'He's so nice…' She looked at him focused on the road. She really liked him… then she realized she was staring at little too long and quickly diverted her gaze back out her window again, trying to fight a deeper blush.

Axel didn’t notice her staring. If he would’ve he wouldn’t have cared. He drove, humming to another miscellaneous song on the radio.

Ember put her forehead against the cool window, closing her eyes. 'Will this friendship last, or will it fall apart like the others and my life?' She bit her lip trying to push back those thoughts and blink away the tears that came with them as she tried to hide them from Axel, not wanting to ruin their day out.

Ember finally wiped the tears away without notice. Then another song came on that she loved. It was called "Welcome to my life". She sang.

Axel listened to her sing, humming along harmonies. She was such a pretty girl, especially a good singer.

Ember decided it was enough sad songs for the day and switched the station, coming to rest on one that was playing "La Da Dee". She didn't sing along though. "Hey Axel? I noticed you almost always wear scarves. Is there a reason behind it?"

Axel stopped humming when she swtiched the station and focused back on the road, pausing at a light.
“Hmmm? Oh, my scarves? No, I just like scarves.”

Ember looked at him. "Maybe I can make you some then." She smiled sweetly before turning to look out the window again. "My mother actually taught me how to knit when she was sober."

Axel glanced at her and smiled warmly. He squeezed her hand, bumping her shoulder.
“I’d like that.”

Ember turned back when he bumped her shoulder. She giggled a little and bumped him back. She then leaned her head onto his shoulder lightly, "I'll do that then. What color?"

Axel smiled warmly in her direction, driving forward again.
“Mmmm… well I haven’t had a purple scarf before. I have a great outfit to match it.”
