Macha squeezed him tighter, drowning, cracking, breaking. She was a supernova in slow motion, body racked by tremors and earthquakes, ravaged by tsunamis, breaking, broken…. gone. She tried to pull the fragments of herself back together but she was doing it all wrong, all wrong, a misassembled puzzle, a mosaic that made no sense. And she was going to keep trying, for him. But the moment it got unbearable for him, the forgetting, the voices, she would end herself. To keep him safe.
"I'm right here– I'm right here– I love you—"
“Please never leave me..I don’t think I can live without you..” He whispered, holding onto her, the only thing he had left.
He needed a lifeline, so she made herself into one. She shoved down every ounce of weakness, plastered her pieces together, and drew herself up. She remoulded herself for him, to shelter him, to protect him. "I'm right here– I'll always be here–"
Tyler held onto her tightly, his breathing heavy and filled with grief. His lifeline, his soulmate, the girl in his head, would never leave him.
(hehe we'll see about that last bit)
Gently, Macha pulled him upwards. "We need to get inside.", she told him softly, leading him towards the door.
(gasp)
“Yeah…inside..” He murmured, stumbling to his feet and into the house.
(hehe…)

Once inside, Macha locked the door, supporting him as she sat him down on the couch. "You look tired– you should sleep.", she said softly, forcing the tremor out of her voice.
(Ahhhh Yeah I had that coming lol)
“What if I wake up and won’t remember anything?” He said quietly, staring at the ground.

"Then– then I'll remind you. I'll tell you as much as I can from the beginning." Macha looped an arm around his side and nudged him so that he relaxed against her.
Tyler leaned against her, suddenly remembering something and sitting up. “Jason..who killed Jason?”
Macha bit her lip, thoughts racing. Should I tell him and crush him with guilt? Or should I lie, risk having him find out later, and end up crushing him with guilt and distrust anyways? "Tyler, you're exhausted, try and sleep."
“But what about Jason?” He asked again, more concerned.
"Don't think about him for now, just sleep and we'll talk in the morning." Macha smoothed his eyelids shut, biting her lip and hoping he would forget by the time he woke up.
“I killed him didn’t I?” Tyler asked, opening his eyes back up.
Macha grew still, falling silent. "Go to sleep, Tyler.", she whispered finally, stroking his hair comfortingly with one hand.
Macha closed her eyes for a moment. "Yes.", she whispered finally. "Yes."
Tyler bent over and ran his hands through his hair. “Why would I do that?” He asked himself, trying to remember why.
"You weren't– you weren't yourself.", Macha tried to reassure him. "Please, Tyler, go to sleep."
“I’m a horrible person. I hate myself for this, so much..”
Macha shook her head vehemently, heart breaking for him. "You weren't yourself. It wasn't you."
“It was me though..just combined with your magic..I am the only one to blame for his death.”
"No.", she told him firmly, desperation welling up inside her, "If anything, it's my fault. My magic. I started this."
“I stopped you on the street. We would’ve never met and none of this would’ve happened.”
"Would you rather we hadn't met?", she asked softly. "And this started before then. When I– when I– when I killed–"
“Stop. I’m so glad I met you. And it’s my fault she died. I wasn’t watching her, I should’ve been more careful.”
“You stop. Stop blaming yourself. Please.” Her voice was pained. “You’re exhausted— you need sleep.”
“I…I don’t want to…I’m scared..” He admitted.
Macha nudged his chin up with her hand, placing a comforting kiss on his mouth. “At least close your eyes. I’ll be right here.” She wrapped her arms around him, squeezing tighter.
“What if I forget everything..what if I forget you..” He said, feeling weak and helpless In her arms.
