Nykidia was sprinting after her. She was laughing insanely. "Are we playing cat and mouse now, dearies?" Nykidia yelled giggling.

"Nykidia if you get to her first, at least let me get a stab before she dies." Cade said between breaths, falling a bit behind Nykidia.

"I can handle it. Quick!" Scarlet pulled him around the trunk of a massive tree and through a maze of thorn bushes. Brambles scratched at her face, but she just kept on going, pulling him behind her.

"No promises," Nykidia giggled she she skipped along.

"Climb." He whispered as he scrambled up a tall tree with large leaves. Once in a high place, they would be safer and safer means he could do his magic.

How the hell is Nykidia not out of breath? Cade asked himself as he kept running. Just ahead, he saw the princess and her friend climb one of the trees.

"Come out!" Nykidia yelled she said looking around. "We will find you!"

Scarlet followed, quick and nimble as she climbed from branch to branch until they were safelt hidden in the foliage.

Virgil pushed his hands together as a hush fell over the forest, the utter silence broken only by the deafening roar of the chasers worst fears. He murmured something in a strange language as the people surrounding him, and himself were trapped in their own fears.

"Come out you little rat!" Nykidia yelled.

Something washed over him as he reached the base of the tree. For a split second he only saw darkness, then he heard a loud gunshot from behind him. There, only a few feet away from him, were the bodies of his family. His parents and his sisters, their faces shocked and soaked with blood. Cade felt himself choke up, unable to even make a noise. His cheeks were soaked with tears as he collapsed to the ground. Next to him there was another body, one he couldn't recognize. It was covered in blood as well, and the only recognizable feature was the two shocked hazel eyes that stared up at the sky. Cade didn't even know who it was, but he found himself sobbing even harder.

Scarlet went rigid, almost falling off her branch. Fractured images sped through her mind, the worst parts of her living nightmares pulled apart and stitched together.

She saw Alice, cackling, completely unbalanced as she drew a dagger all the way from her daughter's collarbone down to her belly button.

She saw herself tied down to her bed while Alice stuck her hand down her maid's throat, strangling her until she slumped to the floor, lifeless.

She saw her head being forced into a bucket filled to the brim with awful, crimson blood, choking and gasping for air until her mother yanked her back up again, her blonde hair now red.

She saw Alice with two chunks of raw flesh in her hands, biting into them like a mad dog.

All of these and more she saw on repeat, over and over again, paralyzing her.

Nykidia watched Cade collapse. "Cade!" She yelled running over to him. "Cade! Snap out of it!"

(Would Nykidia be effected by this or is it only a one person at a time thing?)

Everyone is affected, even Virgil//

It was Alice. She killed them all. He just knew it. Cade heard a voice nearby and without hesitation, he swung his knife at the person.

“NYKIDIA!” Teresa yelled. She used her bow and shot two arrows at scarlets leg, both hitting there mark.

Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she gripped the tree branch tighter, smothering a scream.

All she could see was Virgil, crumpled to the ground in a lifeless heap. Virgil, with blood pooling around his body. Virgil, with her mother standing over him, blood dripping from her mouth.

(notice how all her fears are connected with Alice… muahahaha)

Nykidia dropped to her knees. Dead. Everyone was dead. Lying on the ground. Night was still on her shoulders. On top of a pile of bodies was her dad, the Mad Hatter. "Dad?" Nykidia choked out. All the suddenly Alice was there she laughed and swung at her. But Night caught the blow. "No!" She yelled as Night fell to the ground. "Please no. No. Nonononononono!" Nykidia said rocking her back and forth in her arms as Alice faded away.

Then the body next to him, the one Cade didn't recognize, suddenly stood up. The hazel eyes narrowed, and within only a few seconds the figure lunged at him and plunged a knife into his heart. It didn't hurt, but for some reason the betrayal of the figure made Cade's heart ache.

Virgil woke in his fears. He was aware of them, but that didn't make it hurt any less. He saw Marrin being slaughtered by the queen's own hand, he saw his family being burned alive, he saw all the people he had been forced to kill, he saw… He saw Scarlet. He saw Scarlet becoming like her mother.

Heh, I have so much more… I don't sleep, instead I come up with horrifying situations.//

Cade stood up after a few seconds, surprised to find that his stab wound had headed. He so desperately wanted to kill the princess. He needed to make her pay for all of this. A low growl came out of his mouth as he turned his head away from the dead bodies of his family, but the figure he didn't recognize stopped him from climbing the tree the princess and her friend were in. "Let me get to her! Let her pay!" He shrieked.

Scarlet was still trapped in the never-ending loop, shaking her head fiercely as her dream-mother stepped towards her and pressed a sword into her one hand, and Virgil's severed head in the other. She dropped it, a scream tearing itself loose from her throat, and ran in the other direction (in her mind).

Cade ignored the body in front of him, pushing it to the side as he started to climb the tree. The voice of the body below filled his mind, begging him to leave the princess unharmed. The voice only fueled his anger.

Virgil saw Marrin being murdered again and again till finally, he lashed out with his magic. He screamed and screamed and screamed as even the forest animals were affected.

"You'll pay for your mother's actions, princess!" Cade yelled into the tree tops as he continued climbing. His heart was pounding in his chest and he heard the pleas of the blood-covered body beneath him, but he kept climbing. "Show yourself! Don't hide like a coward!"

Someone screaming her name. There was someone screaming her name. Scarlet was jarred out of her cycle of nightmares, whipping her head around. Her heart stopped when she saw the boy from the cottage climbing towards her with a crazed look in his eyes.
(Idrc What he does to her rn, he can stab her if he wants as long as it’s not serious lol)
