(I’m here now sorry)
Scarlet sat cross legged on her bed, squeezing her eyes and trying to dislodge the fear from inside her. Just a few more hours… just two more hours.. Her hands shook, her thoughts were fractured, but still she drew herself up and tried to steel her nerves. Two lore hours… just two more hours.. Those four words had become her mantra. It was all she could do to wait until she could get out of this living hell, away from her mother and her bloodied mouth. The horrible laugh of Alice still echoed in her head, ricocheted around in her brain like a bullet. The image of blood dripping from the corner of her mouth was emblazoned in Scarlet’s mind.
I am going to get out.
Teresa sat in the livingroom as her father read a book. She was looking outside of their simple cottage wanting to go out but the time wasn’t right
"Teresa!!!" Nykidia said bursting into Teresa house. Today she was wearing a purple top hat with a green ribbon. "Guess what?!?"
“What?” She asked surprised. “Nykidia.” Her father said standing up “what a nice surprise!”
(I forgot who is your father.)
(King of clubs)
(Okay sorry)
"Oh! Hello your highness!" Nykidia said taking a deep bow. "How are you today?"
“No need to bow, it’s…been a while.” He said. “I’ll leave you two be, would you like something to eat?” Teresa nodded “can you make sandwiches!?” She asked. He nodded and went into the kitchen.
"Don't worry. I want to bow and plus your not the only one I bow to anyway." Nykidia said giggling. "Teresa! Guess what happened? Guess! Guess! Guess!"
“What? What?!” She asked getting excited as well
"It's kinda bad news. Alice went on another spree. I saw it. It was baaaad. She ate 2 people." Nykidia said. She didn't seem particularly bothered by this.
“Oh no…” she whispered horrified
"I'm so fricken mad." She said getting mad. "I just wish wonderland could go back to the way it was. Before Alice." She said. "I wish we could live like that instead of hiding."
“I wish.. I wish none of this happened.” She said
Cade relaxed his shoulders, letting himself sink into the branch beneath him. It was a rather beautiful afternoon, with the sun shining brightly and a few fluffy white clouds littering the sky. On the horizon a dark menacing storm cloud was forming, but Cade knew it could be hours before it reached the village. Until then, he planned on relaxing while he could. The past few weeks had been chaos, so now he was embracing the silence he had.
Insane cackling echoed beyond Scarlet’s closed bedroom door, making her heart freeze. Oh god oh god oh god, please walk by.. The muffled sound of footsteps on the blood-dyed carpet of the hallway stopped right in front of her room. “Oh Scarlet….” A sickly sweet sing-songy voice called out to her, making her stomach turn.
Virgil walked down the halls of the castle, he could pretty much go wherever he wanted because he was essential to the person he hated the most. He heard the queen's insane cackling and froze. That was right in front of Scarlet's door.
"You know her daughter Scarlet? I hate her even more. I least if Alice didn't have a heir then someone better would take her place and things would get better. But she was smart enough to get a heir to pass her kingdom on to." Nykidia said, pacing the room.
“Honestly I feel bad for Sxarlet, having a terror like that for a mother.” Teresa shivered
Cade felt a drop of water hit his forehead. "What the hell?" He grumbled, looking up at the sky. The clouds above him had turned a dark grey color, and the drops of water falling from the sky were coming down faster and faster. He groaned, carefully jumping down from the tree he had been relaxing in. Cade's jacket was already soaked by the time he reached the forest floor.
Scarlet took a shuddering breath in. "Yes, mother?", she called, palms sweating.
The door handle turned slowly, and the door opened just enough to reveal sculpted blonde curls. All of a sudden, it crashed open with such force that the handle made a dent in the wall. Scarlet flinched, stifling a cry of fright as her mother walked in.
The rain was coming down even faster now, and a light fog made the whole forest seem mysterious. Cade pulled his hood over his head and he jogged through the forest, trying to make it home before his clothes were completely soaked through.
Oh, shit shit shit shit! Was Virgil's panicked thoughts, he knew how monstrous the queen was, especially to her daughter. "I hope she's okay." He muttered under his breath as he walked towards Scarlet's room, he stopped at the corner and peeked his head over the edge.
Alice smiled sweetly, stepping closer to her daughter. And she would've been a pretty sight, with her glacial blue eyes, glossy blonde ringlets, and elaborate light blue gown, if it weren't for the fact that the whole bottom half of her face, as well as the front of her dress, was covered in blood and gore.
Scarlet strangled a whimper in her throat before it could emerge. "Scarlet.", the queen purred, putting her face so close to her daughter's that she could smell the rotting flesh on her breath. "I have a job for you..", she sang.
As Cade took another step forward, he realized that his foot was no longer touching the worn dirt path he had been following. The grass around him was a few inches tall and it brushed against his legs, wiping water on his pants. He cursed under his breath and shivered as the rain poured down from the sky, the trees around him barely providing shelter.
Nykidia looked out the window. "Well it's raining now. I might have to wait here for a bit longer than expected." Nykidia said sitting down in the middle if the floor.
