Macha felt a few pounds lighter. This could work. This could really work. “How would he help us?”

"He could take care of those men. He knows them personally, I think it would work."

Macha nodded. “Sounds like a plan.” She had the slightest hint of a smile in her voice.

"Yeah." He smiled at her and leaned over to kiss her gently.

Macha scooted closer, nestling herself up against his side and peppering tiny kisses along his jaw.

Tyler smiled and hugged her, feeling hopeful for the first time in a while. "We're going to be okay."

Macha sank into his arms, laying her head against his chest. “We’re going to be okay.”, she repeated, breaths evening out.

Tyler smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "Of course we will.."

Macha relaxed fully against him. “Mm.. I love you…”

"I love you too." He smiled and laid down with Macha still in his arms. "You think you could get some sleep now?"

Macha shrugged. “Maybe.” She sank down into the mattress the next to Tyler, relaxing.

"Please try.." He said, kissing her forehead.

“Only if you try too..”

"I will." He said truthfully, squeezing her hand.

Tyler stirred slightly and blinked awake, glancing around him.

Macha felt him move next to her, and rolled over into her side to face him. “Morning, sleepyhead.”

"Oh hi." He smiled, turning around to face her. "I missed you."

Macha smiled softly, but tiredly. “I was right beside you all night.” She leaned forward to kiss him gently, exhaustion weighing her down.

"I knoww but we were asleep." He said, feeling her exhaustion mixing with his own. He leaned over and kissed her back softly.

Macha pressed her lips to his, pulling back to reply. “While you were asleep.”, she corrected quietly.

"You didn't sleep? Did you try?"

Macha nodded, curling into him. "I tried. It didn't really work."

“Well now why’s that?” He asked, kissing her on the nose.

Macha laughed quietly, bumping noses with him. "I don't know… it just happens sometimes. I'm glad you got rest though."

“You should have too.” He glared jokingly, pressing his face against hers.

Macha pulled him closer, rolling over onto her back and reaching up to cup his cheeks with her hands. "I'll try harder tonight."

“That’s right.” He laughed a little, leaning down to kiss her.

Macha placed one hand in the middle of his back, spreading her fingers wide and pulling him closer as they kissed, the other hand buried in his hair. For the moment, the danger they were in was forgotten, allowing Macha to gently tease her boyfriend, kissing him quickly and pulling away repeatedly.
