Cameron laughed. “That was the lie. I love mint ice cream.”
Cameron laughed. “That was the lie. I love mint ice cream.”
"Okay," Lilah chuckled. "So… Hm… I'm obsessed with old Disney movies. I really like Country music. And I know the lyrics to Can You Feel the Love Tonight? by heart."
Cameron puckered his lips. “The… the second?” If he were being honest, he wasn’t sure what music type she liked.
"It was the third, actually. I know some of the lyrics, but not all of them," Lilah chuckled. "Good try, though."
Cameron mocked a disappointed ‘awww’. “Alright… um… hmm.. I have a cousin named Feris, I love swimming and other lake related things, and I miss home. Especially my room.”
Lilah narrowed her eyes at him slightly, unsure of his statements.
"The lie is that you miss home…" she guessed, choosing the one that almost seemed too obvious.
Cameron nodded. “I do kinda miss my room, though.”
Lilah gave him a sympathetic smile. "I miss my room, too. But here, I'm with you, and that makes this much better."
Cameron smiled and set his head on her neck. “I’m glad I’m here, too. Especially with you.”
Lilah cuddled closer to Cameron with a happy sigh. "It's perfect. Our life together, that is."
Cameron nodded with a smile highlighting his face. “It is. It’ll have it’s cute little quirks, too.”
(Math is killing me, I swear…)
"It already does," Lilah said with a light laugh.
(Oooof)
Cameron laughed. “It does. That’s so true.”
(Stupid three-variable equations…)
"We've got two run-away royals, the prince's dog, and the princess' older dog, who seems to be getting older day by day…" Lilah trailed off with a sigh before shaking her head and forcing her smile back onto her face. "Life is interesting here."
Cameron smiled sadly at her and rubbed her face gently. “Lilac’ll make it through. She’s a fighter. Two run-away royals who have been gone for a while. We’re a funny little family.”
"That we are," Lilah agreed softly, her face softening as she glanced at Lilac. "I do worry about her, though…"
Cameron looked at Lilac too and moved his hand to Lilah’s face to Lilac’s head. “She’s a sweet girl. She’ll live yet.”
Lilac looked up at Cameron and woofed, wagging her tail. Lilah chuckled at her and scratched behind her ear. "Yeah. She has to."
Cameron chuckled and kissed Lilac’s nose. “She’s a young spirit, too.”
"Yeah, I don't think she every really grew out of the puppy phase," Lilah said with a smile.
Cameron smiled a bit more and continued rubbing her head. “What dog grows out of the puppy phase?”
Lily barked loudly for attention, wiggling onto Lilah’s chest and licking her chin.
"Police dogs, army dogs, et cetera," Lilah said with a shrug, shooting Cameron a smile as she cuddled Lily.
Cameron grinned at Lily, who started to lick her face.
“True, true. Still. They’re trained to be that way.”
"Okay… Yeah, so I guess they don't technically grow out of it, but still," Lilah giggled, trying to push Lily out of her face.
Cameron watched with a smile on his face as Lily barked and whined in protest. She scrambled around, trying to attach herself to Lilah.
"Lily!" Lilah squealed, laughing as she twisted and turned to avoid the doggy slobber.
Lilac looked up at Lilah, then at Cameron, and decided she wanted to lick someone, too. She licked at Cameron's face, her tail wagging excitedly.
Lily laid down on Lilah’s chest, leaning up to lick her face happily and excitedly.
Cameron spluttered in surprise but didn’t try to push the dog away. He enjoyed the gentle licks.
"Cameron, your dog is smushing me!" Lilah wheezed through laughter, bringing her hands up to cover her face.
Cameron looked at Lily and starter laughing more. “Lily! Get off of her!”
Lily barked and scrambled off of Lilah, to start licking at Cameron’s face instead.
Lilah continued to lay in her spot, laughing hard.
Lilac nosed Lily's muzzle away from Cameron, wanting to lick him herself. She let out a soft woof before continuing her licking.
