"She just might. Be careful." Afriel messed Zackarys hair up more and giggled. "come on."
"She just might. Be careful." Afriel messed Zackarys hair up more and giggled. "come on."
Zackary smiled. He couldn’t wait to see the look on Eden’s face. “I’m right behind you, love.”
Afriel made her way down, taking two stairs at a time.
Eden turned to the two and opened her mouth to say a greetings, but ended up scolding Zackary. "Don't you know what its like to be perfesonal?"
Zackary curled his lips up into a grin. “Good morning to you Eden. Yes I do know what it’s like.”
Eden rolled her eyes, "then why aren't you dressed?"
“Because.” Zackary leaned back on his heels. “I know my second favorite Angel will let me live in comfort for one more day. Or at least work on comfort.”
Eden rolled her eyes. "Fine, but you're staying in the back all day. Afriel, keep an eye on him."
Afriel but back a laugh and nodded her head.
Zackary giggled and graciously took Eden’s hands and kneeled. “Thank you, Eden. I shall forever grace you for your gift.”
Eden pulled her hand back, "just get to baking. You've already been missing for almost 2 weeks."
Zackary’s floor-ridden wings shivered indignantly as he rose back up. “Trust me, I’d rather be here with you two. Not in agony with not being able to fly and lost in fear of Demons finding me and killing me for being a traitor.”
"oh and did I mention it is a demon party?" Eden shot a grin before leaving to tend to any customers.
Afriel looked to Zackary, "think you'll be okay?"
Zackary’s wings fluffed out angrily. “Of course I won’t be okay! I can’t go to that party!”
"Its a neutral town though! I'm sure you'd be fine." Afriel gave a slightly worried look his way.
Zackary gave Eden’s back an unhappy, scathing look. He was cowering for his life a few days ago, risking his life to try and get back up here, and Eden was just throwing it back out again.
Afriel sighed and got to work, making what pastrys where on the list. "I mean, you could also hide your wings?"
“It’s not smart, nor healthy,” Zackary grumbled before marching off to the back of the bakery.
"Fine, I could hide mine, no one would know."
“Why would you hide yours?” Zackary called back. “We’re both fucked at the fact that I’m still alive!”
"Zackary you don't have to go then. Just tell Eden. I'm sure she'd understand."
Zackary huffed. “I’m going. I’m not leaving you two alone with a whole bunch of Demons.”
"You could paint your wings?" Afriel cocked her head to the side. "Would that work?"
Zackary frowned. “It might. But we’d have to spraypaint them. Not just take a paintbrush. It’d be messy, hard work.”
"Well I'm sure they have a store around here that sells spray paint." Afriel poped a tray of batter in the oven and looked up at Zackary. "Pluse, maybe you'd make new friends and not run away so far next time."
Zackary gave a slight, disgruntled shrug. “People of my breed don’t like me. I don’t act like them, since I’m not one of them, technically.”
"Neutral. Town. Zackary, people are diffrent here."
“Doesn’t change the breed and what they’re made to understand,” Zackary pointed out.
Afriel shrugged. "I learned to except something new."
Zackary sighed. “I know you have. I wish others were like you.”
"I'm sure there are, Zackary." Afriel cupped his face with one of her hands, and smiled.
Zackary leaned into her hand, half-closing his eyes. “They’re not as amazing as you, though.”
