"Will you at least go tell them what happened and that they can stay in the guest room for the night?" Lilah asked, pulling back to look at him.
"Will you at least go tell them what happened and that they can stay in the guest room for the night?" Lilah asked, pulling back to look at him.
Cameron looked around. “I just heard him behind me. I think he’s closer than we think.” He opened his eyes. That might help.
"I think he's hust outside the door," Lilah murmured.
Sure enough, a knock soon came, followed by Liam's voice. "Guys? You in here?"
"Liam, leave them be. They probably just want some alone time," Jess' soft voice came after.
Cameron sighed. “You guys can come in.” He set his head down again.
"I thought you were just going to go out there and talk to them," Lilah sighed, pulling away from him a bit more as the door opened.
"Hey, guys, what– Woah, Lilah, your back! Are you okay?" Liam asked, rushing over to the side of the bed. "What happened?"
"No, I am not okay. I'm severely sunburned. We fell asleep at the lake," Lilah explained with another sigh.
Cameron pulled the sheets over their heads and curled up. “It was a mistake to invite them in.”
"Cameron!" Lilah laughed, tugging the sheets back down.
"We can go," Jess said, pulling on Liam's arm.
Cameron tugged the sheets back up, smiling. “It’s cold in here!”
"We have guests!" Lilah countered, pulling them back down with a laugh.
"Okay, okay, we'll go," Liam sighed, wrapping his arm around Jessica's waist and letting her pull him out.
"Thanks, Jess!" Lilah called as they shut the door.
Cameron tugged them back up. “Now we don’t. Now we can live in warmth.”
"You're ridiculous," Lilah chuckled before she leaned over and kissed him gently.
Cameron kissed her back happily. “It is my nickname.”
"No, that's 'impossible'," Lilah said with a smile.
Cameron rested his head on her neck. “Mmm. Same difference. Same connotation.”
"Whatever," Lilah mumbled sleepily. "I'm too tired to argue with you about that right now…"
Cameron shut his eyes. “Why do we need to argue when there’s sleep…?”
"Exactly," Lilah murmured, snuggling closer to him with a contented sigh.
Cameron hugged her close and gave her another gentle kiss on the head. “I love you.”
"Mm, love you, too," Lilah mumbled, already half-asleep.
Cameron dozed off slowly, sighing into his comfy, warm partner. He was glad he finally asked her to marry him.
Lilah was dead-asleep when she was finally out. The burn must be healing quickly if she was this tired. Hopefully, it wouldn't hurt for too long.
(Skip?)
(Sure.)
(To when?)
(When they wake up? Or after Liam and Jess leave?)
(Liam and Jess leaving sounds good. Want me to start?)
(Would you, please? I'm kinda dry on creativity right now.)
(Same here. Okay.)
Cameron plopped down on the couch once Liam and Jess left. It was a very long weekend with them here. He rubbed his face.
“Well, that was fun.”
Lilah chuckled and carefully sat beside him. Her back was still a little burnt, but it was definitely much better than it had been.
"Yeah, it was, actually. I'm glad they got to visit," she sighed, leaned her head on his shoulder.
Cameron put an arm around her shoulders. “Do you think they’re going to tell your parents about us?” He looked at her, carefully monitoring for her reaction. He’d been bursting with the question the moment he was reawakened to Jess and Liam’s presence.
