"I guess I'm the first, then." He smiled weakly.
"I guess I'm the first, then." He smiled weakly.
"I-" She wasn't sure how to exactly respond to that having never heard it before. She had never really felt beautiful before.
"I'm not lying, if that helps."
She chuckled a little. "You sure? I think you are."
“I’m not, I swear!” Alton’s eyes went wide.
Her smile spread a little. "Liar, liar, pants on fire~"
“Nononono, I swear I’m telling the truth! Please believe me…”
She laughed. "I can't. I just know that I'm not."
"Well, you may not think so, but I do." He decided, folding his arms.
She sighed in defeat. "Fine." She couldn't believe she was letting him win.
"Good." He grinned - rather cutely.
Her heart flutter when she saw him smile. She could feel the heat rise to her cheeks. Gosh, Red, what are you doing?!
Alton laughed and rose. "I'm going to make dinner now."
She smiled and nodded. "Okay. Do you need any help?"
"I think I've got it. Just tell me if you need me to carry you." He suggested.
"Okay." She smiled warmly. It still shocked her how considerate he was.
Alton grinned at her and walked out of the room into the kitchen.
Red smiled back. Something about him… She layed back, not planning to fall asleep. In fact, she fought to stay awake. Don't want to miss dinner. Even so, she felt her eyes droop further and further down.
Alton left the dinner on the kitchen counter, going to get Red. He was rather amused to find her sleeping. He kneeled by the bed again. "Red," He whispered softly.
Somewhere in the back of her mind she could hear his voice. She moved towards the voice, almost like she was drifting through time and space. Her eyes fluttered open gently. They were still adjusting, but she could make out his figure. "Hmm?"
Red had moved so that her face was only about six inches from his. Alton grinned, speaking softly. "Dinner's ready."
She smiled warmly. "Okay." She could feel his breath on her face as she looked into his eyes.
"Here, do you want me to carry you again?"
She nodded gently. "That'd probably be good."
"Okay." He grinned, carefully picking her up.
The world spun as he did so, slowly steadying as he held her. She closed her eyes for a few moments, hoping to still the world sooner.
Alton carefully sat her in a chair, going to get the plates.
She opened her eyes as he sat her down, the world blurring for just a moment before coming together. She watched as he got the plates. "You need any help?"
"I've got it." He sat one down in front of her, putting the other in front of himself.
"Thanks." She could smell the food from her seat. "What's for dinner?"
