"Rise and shine!" Magdalena shouted as the alarm clock went off. She sighed, shaking her head at Aether. "C'mon Aether! It's the first day of classes! Wake up!"
"Rise and shine!" Magdalena shouted as the alarm clock went off. She sighed, shaking her head at Aether. "C'mon Aether! It's the first day of classes! Wake up!"
Peony awoke to the song of a blue jay.
In her dorm.
Sitting up from her bed, pushing opened books off her lap she yawns and then smiled. "Maān Erin…" she sighed, looking over to the bird. She hadn't gotten undress last night, curling up in her covers to fight her way through a few english nursery rhymes. She had written down the terms she didn't know and worked to translate them. By the end of the night, she had more words she didn't know than those translated. Glancing a the list, she fought another sigh. She refused to be discouraged. "First day, much learning…" she said with a determined look. She would get better. She would make sure of it.
Getting out of bed she moved with speed. Using the shower, a wonderful contraption, getting dressed, and checking for her schedule once more. All the while listening to the sound of the blue jay. it chirped about, resting on the window sill. Peony smiled and gently pushed him out. "Iim gar'na glenn-hi, ae." She waved it goodbye before closing the window.
Barry groaned and rolled over in bed. “Fade…? You up yet?”, he mumbled sleepily, wanting to close his eyes again but barely resisting.
(Beau… exists)
Oliver rolls out of bed and straight to the floor, “…mm morning” he mumbles to himself
Beau had already been awake for hours, unable to sleep due to his anxiety. He was sitting crosslegged on his bed, eating Twizzlers. He had circles under his eyes already, and he glanced over at Oliver. "Morning."
"But I don't wanna!" Aether whined. She turned over to peek at the alarm clock through sleepy eyes. Seeing the time, she jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom, almost knocking Maggie over in her wake. If she didn't hurry, she was going to be late to class!
Magdalena rolled her eyes, slipping on her jacket. She had missed breakfast, but luckily for her she still had some snacks left over from the trip to Tetorra. "Hey Aether!" She called out. "Do you want me to leave you some food before I go?"
“Good morning!” Oliver says cheerily, “…are you okay?” He asks looking concerned at his undereye circles
"I'm alright…" Beau yawned, eating another Twizzler to try and get some sugar in his blood to replace the energy he didn't have temporarily. "Didn't really get any sleep."
Oliver sits up from his spot on the ground, “it’s ‘cause you’re eatin’ all that sugar!” He says, his sleepiness making his speech patterns lazy
Beau shook his head. "I didn't eat any last night. These are just a coping method for the morning. I'm just… I-I'm really anxious. I don't know what I'm doing and I'm afraid I might hurt someone with my powers on accident." As he got more stressed and worked up, things around him started floating.
“Hey, hey” he stands up and moves beside Beau on the bed, he takes his hand and pats it comfortingly, “it’s going to be alright, that’s why you came here. You’ll learn how to control your powers” his voice is quiet and even, much different than before when Oliver was hyper and excited, “that’s what you’re here to do..” he smiles and gains back his upbeat tone, but stays quiet, “and plus, no one knows what they’re doing! Powers are crazy!” He giggles
(Shiiiiip)
Beau shook his head, drawing his knees up to his chest and hiding his face in his arms, which were crossed on top of them. A light 'clink' was heard as a plastic cup hit the ceiling, and a few more taps when other things did as well. Beau did everything in his power to bring them back down without looking up or anything, but his breath just caught in his throat as he made the realization that he had no control at all over his powers.
Oliver lightly brushes through Beau’s hair with his fingers, “Beau…look at me…it’s okay.”
Beau glanced up at Oliver, his heart pounding. He could feel a blush trying to creep up into his cheeks. Oh, god…
Oliver tilts his head, noticing Beau’s blush, and feeling one creep upon his pale face, “oh no! are you feeling sick?” He asks, placing a hand on his forehead , “your face is burning up!”
His face just flushed harder, and he had to look away. "N-No, I'm… I'm fine. It's just, uh… hot, in here?"
Oliver giggles and turns away, “it feels cold in here to me!” He says and turns away, confused as to why he’s blushing too
Pull yourself together! He mentally slapped himself, trying to get himself to just calm down in general. "Dunno, maybe you're right. We should… uh… probably go to breakfast, or whatever it's called."
He nods, “yeah! We can Get some breakfast and then I’ll show you to your first class!”
Beau nodded and stood up, vaguely aware that the objects were still floating as they left the room.
Oliver walked towards the center of the campus, where there were options for food, “what’re you hungry for Beau?”
"Well, I don't technically need to eat…" You could probably use it, though. You're getting thinner by the day… (to himself, btw).
(awwwwww I ship it)
(ssssame)
(Me toooooooo)
Oliver looks over at him, “did you say you wanted breakfast tacos?” He asks with a laugh, “because that’s what I heard!”
"Uh… I dunno what that is, but sure?" Honestly, if he heard that from 'I don't need to eat', he probably needs his ears checked.
“Oh they’re amazing!” He says and grabs Beau’s wrist, pulling him towards a taco truck and ordering four burritos
"Four? How many of those are you going to eat? I think you're overestimating my consumption capabilities…"
