Alton carried her bridal-style to her bedroom, dropping her on the bed and kneeling next to it, resting his elbows on the bed.
Alton carried her bridal-style to her bedroom, dropping her on the bed and kneeling next to it, resting his elbows on the bed.
She kept her eyes closed for a moment to adjust to being stable before looking over to Alton. For some reason, her voice was soft and fragile again. "Hi."
“Hi,” He responded just as soft. He smiled.
His smile sent warmth through her entire existence. She smiled back, her dimples showing. I think I'm a tad bit loopy.
"So you have dimples," He chuckled, inclining his head.
That only made her smile more. She quickly brought her hands up to her mouth to cover them. Her voice was muffled from her sleeve. "Noooooo…"
"Aw, no, why're you covering them?" Alton reached up to remove Red's hands from her face gently.
"Because…ew." She giggled a little. Definitely loopy. "Why would I purposely show them?"
Alton smiled softly. "There's no reason not to."
"But there is no reason to." For some reason, she never really liked them. They always seemed to get in the way when trying to hide her smile.
"They're not bad," He protested.
"But they aren't exactly good either." She laughed lightly. "At least, I haven't ever thought so."
"Well, I think they are. Stop being so hard on yourself, Red." Alton argued.
She sighed in defeat and just looked at him for a moment. There really was something different about him.
“What?” He inclines his head in a way that closely resembles a curious puppy.
She laughed. "Nothing." He looks kinda cute.
“You sure?” He grinned. She’s…pretty.
"Mhmm…" She could feel herself grinning.
“Haven’t seen you smile since I met you.” He laughed softly. “It suits you.”
"Well, I haven't smiled since I met you, sooooo…" This much was true. She wasn't sure if it really fit her, she was so used to being stone faced in front of other people.
“Really? I’m honored.” He held a hand to his heart.
She laughed. She could feel herself being a better person when he was around. "You should be."
Alton laughed too. “I like it when you’re happy, you know?”
"No, I don't know." It was honestly hard for her to be happy when there wasn't anyone trying to make her happy, but now with Alton…
“I’m gonna try and make you happy. I like it when you’re happy.” He decided.
"It won't last forever." It never had, but she wouldn't stop him from trying at the moment. "Why do you like it though?"
"Well, it…suits you. Makes you look pretty." He blinked, realizing what he'd just said.
"I - wait what?" She was sure she hadn't heard right.
"Um…I said…it makes you look pretty?" He tried again, hopeful.
She was still confused. "No one's ever…Said that before…"
