(Mekdidiehejeisksss how about she goes back and they talk, and she invites him out for coffee?)

Hazel frowned as the quickly falling rain drops began to hit her clothes despite having an umbrella. Now underneath the small overhang over the door to the library, she closed her protection from the rain, giving it a quick shake. Entering, she set the item in a small bucket at the front door for that very reason. It was better than daring to ruin a book with water damage.

Carrio hastily turned down the jazz to an acceptable volume, rather than so loud he’d be able to hear it in the basement. He glance up at her, with a slight grin.
“Hi there. Enjoy the books?”

@Painted-Iris group

Turning her head, she saw the same guy with the gray eyes.
"Oh um, yes, I did," Hazel replied. Today she wore her dark blue coat over a green shirt that read, 'The books are always better,' in a swirling font. She came up towards the return bin and carefully placed all six inside.

Carrio grinned. “Nice shirt. Well, I’ll be here if you need any help looking for some books.” He hummed with the jazz and looked back at the computer screens, checking on the books in his catalog.

Hazel's cheeks immediately warmed at the comment. For some reason whenever she came in, the man was always there to greet and compliment her. Her mind didn't quite know what to do with that, so she simply nodded quickly and made her way towards the varying sections of books.

Carrio grinned a little at her response. He found compliments always made others happy, wether it be on their appearance, their clothing or their personalities. He was just a bookkeep, but he liked to be a nice person every so often.

After around twenty minutes, Hazel had already found her amount of books for the next couple of days. Sliding each novel across the counter, she looked expectantly at the man's hands waiting for him to check them out.

Carrio turned and swiftly stamped the books, with an impressive rythym that coordinated with the jazz. He nodded and pushed them towards her.
“I just have to register them in the system that they’re checked out and you can go.”

@Painted-Iris group

"A-" she started before stopping herself. No, this was stupid. He was probably only nice due to the fact that he worked here. Her mind was unable to stop her tongue however.
"A-are you able to have coffee later on…?"
Hazel's face immediately warmed. What am I doing?!
"I-I mean I get you're probably not, just forget I asked. Please…?" she pleaded. Heck, she didn't even know his name, much less have any reason to practically ask him out!
… Did I just… OH GOD I THINK I DID.

Carrio looked up at her, rasing his eyebrows. “Sure! When do you wanna go?” No one is ever nice to the bookkeep. He’s just there to sort books and be a boring librarian that hushes rambunctious children.

@Painted-Iris group

Hazel was taken aback by his chipper response. He… said yes?
"Oh, um… I suppose whenever your break is?" she responded, face a reddening mess. She felt so dumb for doing something so sudden. After going to the shop for their coffee, it was likely she might bang her head into a wall for doing such a thing.

Carrio smiled kindly. “This is my library. The only person whoever comes around is usually you, so my break is pretty much all the time. We can go now, if you’d like.”

@Painted-Iris group

"Ah. O-okay then…" Hazel said, fiddling with the bottom of her shirt. Finally taking her books, she placed them into her bag. Her heart beating a mile a minute, she took her umbrella and opened the door. This would be one heck of a day alright…

Carrio grabbed the keys to his library, shut off his lights, the jazz and the computer before joining her outside to lock up.
“Alright, here we go. Is there a particular shop you wanted to visit?”

@Painted-Iris group

(Just for some background, Hazel comes from a very rough household where she wasn't treated very well. She grew up thinking everything she did was a bad thing and even used to harm herself at one point. She's ashamed of her self inflicted injuries which is why she wears long sleeves even in the summer.)

@Painted-Iris group

"N-not really. I know of one not far from here," she replied, still sounding nervous and timid. She began to mess with her right braid, not knowing what else to do.

Deleted user

(Aww)

Carrio smiled warmly at her. “Let’s go, then. Lead the way?”

@Painted-Iris group

Hazel nodded to avoid from having to mess up her words and stutter. She set off to the left of the small library. Her mind wasn't quite sure how to feel about the librarian still following along. Of course it was good he agreed and didn't make her feel completely dumb for asking, but at the same time she felt horrible. When walking, she made sure there was room underneath the umbrella if he wished. Hazel wouldn't blame the man if he didn't join her.

Carrio hastened to join her, though. Whenever his glasses got smudged over with rain, he couldn’t see a thing and would bumble around like an idiot. He smiled at her warmly, hoping to leave a warm atmosphere, rather than a rainy, cold one.

@Painted-Iris group

(gonna need to go to bed soon)
Hazel could relate to not being able to see a thing in the rain. Noticing the librarian's warm grin, she returned it but it was quite small compared to the other's. "I… I don't exactly know your name. I'm sorry…"

Deleted user

(Okay!)

Carrio smiled. “Carrio. It’s a pleasure. What’s yours?” He didn’t devote himself to learning the regular’s names, considering he didn’t want to scare them off.
